He may have been beaten yesterday but Stuart Carrington said joining an elite group to score three consecutive centuries at the World Championship was one of many positives from his first-round loss against Liang Wenbo.

Carrington followed John Higgins, Mark Selby, Ronnie O'Sullivan and Neil Robertson into the triple-ton record books with breaks of 124, 101 and 107.

"To be in that bracket is amazing," the 26-year-old Grimsby potter said.

But the world number 48 described the 10-7 loss as a missed opportunity.

Iain Gordon McGregor: 12 Welshmen in Lions squad. Won 2 from 5 in Six Nations, not winners then! What can possibly go wrong? Only two Scots, nonsense.

Jamie Scrymgeour: its an absolute joke of a lions team.... @Scotlandteam, external played brilliant in the 6 nations and ONLY TWO GOT PICKED

Henry Ashman: Gatland picked his dumper trucks from the 8th best side in the world, over the dynamic, creative players from the 2nd & 5th...
