    The form book delivers.

Lonah Chemtai Salpeter - the fastest woman in Europe this year - brings home a gold medal for Israel.

She swapped her native Kenya for Israel after marrying her Israeli coach. The pair have a toddler now. Nice.

Netherlands' Susan Krumins takes a courageous silver with Sweden's Meraf Bahta in bronze.

    Men's decathlon

Britain's Tim Duckworth led the men's decathlon after five events following a hugely successful day on Tuesday.

He has just the 1500m event to go and he currently sits in second place. Here's a few of his highlights...

    Men's decathlon - 1500m (20:45 BST)

    .

This is the situation in the heptathlon heading into the final event.

Great Britain's Tim Duckworth will be fighting off those behind him rather than attempting to overhaul Arthur Abele at the top of the standings.

The 22-year-old, who was born in the United States to British parents, has the slowest 1500m personal best of any athlete in the field - just a shade over five minutes.

Abele, at more than 45 seconds better, is the fastest and looks assured of gold.

Duckworth needs a dramatic up-turn in form to hold off Ilya Shkurenyov and Vitali Zhuk and stay on the podium.

Olympic heptathlon gold medallist on BBC TV

I watched Adam Gemili and Nathaneel Mitchell-Blake at the trials and I don't think they have another gear at the moment.

I don't believe the talk when they say they're feeling good - because they don't - I think there's some underlying issues there.

The issue is more than physical for Adam Gemili - it's mental too. They want to put their foot down and there's nothing there - as a world class athlete that's not where you want to be.

    Michael Johnson
Four-time Olympic gold medallist athlete on BBC TV

Nathaneel Mitchell-Blake didn't really look good at all. He looked like he was struggling from start to finish. He didn't come off the bend well at all and the transition wasn't good either - I was expecting a lot better from him.

He said he wanted to leave something in the tank and I hope he has.

'It's not clicking' - Gemilipublished at 19:39 British Summer Time 8 August 2018

    Men's 200m semi-finals

Britain's Nethaneel Mitchell-Blake speaking to BBC: "I wasn't trying to go all out. I'm trying to save something for the final tomorrow.

"I'm glad to be in the final and have something to spare. I want to go for it tomorrow."

Adam Gemili: "It's not a nice place to be. I don't know. It's not clicking. I am trying! I thought I ran a good bend and wanted to go into cruise control but the guys just kept coming.

"It was an amateur race. I feel like I'm much more experienced than that. It was really disappointing. I need to sit down with my coach and work out what has gone wrong.

"To scrape through to a European final... I feel I'm much better than that."

    Denise Lewis
Olympic heptathlon gold medallist on BBC TV

I don't believe Adam Gemili when he says he feels really good because he doesn't look the same athlete that he was two or three years ago. It's hard to see why he was struggling.

  18. 'I'm not sure what went wrong'published at 19:37 British Summer Time 8 August 2018

    Men's 200m semi-finals

    Michael Johnson
Four-time Olympic gold medallist athlete on BBC TV

I'm not sure what went wrong for Adam Gemili because I didn't see any mistakes.

He ran a very good bend and made a good transition but then he looks tight at the end and he starts to lose speed towards the end - it looked like the end of a 400m race.

We can see in his facial expression that he was really struggling at the end.

It looks like he wasn't in very good shape but he looks confused, so he clearly thinks he is in good shape.

Nethaneel Mitchell-Blake was coasting towards the end there so this will be one exciting final.
