The Chiefs punt it and Demarcus Robinson inadvertently then wipes out one of the officials, but he's OK and soon back on his feet.

The most basic of penalties for the Titans, who gift five yards to the Chiefs as the Titans had 12, not 11, players on the pitch. Time for calm heads.

A glimmer of hope for the Titans. Ryan Tannehill throws for a 22-yard touchdown, with Anthony Firkser leaping high and catching it while mid-air.

Greg Joseph kicks the extra point. The gap is 11 points with four minutes, 18 seconds left on the clock.

The Titans are going to have to produce some magic tricks to get out of this one. A fake punt comes good. They need 18 points to force overtime and they've only got less than five minutes to get them.

Mickey Bricks: To think I was sceptical when Chiefs traded Alex Smith. Apologies to both Andy Reid and Patrick Mahomes so sorry I ever doubted you both.

Andrew Priestley: And with that the Chiefs are Super Bowl bound, and deservedly so. This high-octane offense will have a chance to showcase their skills on the biggest stage of them all.

Kansas City Chiefs 35-17 Tennessee Titans

Is that a place in Super Bowl 54 for the Kansas City Chiefs?

Patrick Mahomes, who else, goes long and it finds Sammy Watkins and he does the rest by sprinting home.

There had been a flag, but the penalty is declined, the touchdown stands and the home fans are going crazy, they are seven and a half minutes from the Super Bowl.

That's a 60-yard touchdown. Oh, Harrison Butker adds another point to the tally as well.

Kansas City Chiefs 28-17 Tennessee Titans

The Chiefs are closing in on a return to the Super Bowl for the first time in 50 years.

They appeared in Super Bowl I, the very first edition of the game, in 1966 against the Green Bay Packers but last appeared in the showpiece in Super Bowl IV in January 1970.

They won Super Bowl IV 23-7 against the Minnesota Vikings.

Kansas City Chiefs 28-17 Tennessee Titans

One thing the Titans really don't need is Ryan Tannehill being sacked, but that's what has happened as the Chiefs defence comes up with a huge moment. Tanoh Kpassagnon is the man who gets to the quarterback and that's a punt for the visitors.

Andrew Priestley: For the first-time in their staggering playoff run the Titans find themselves behind and chasing a game. They are no longer able to dictate the way they play and are now going to have to take some big risks.

Kansas City Chiefs 28-17 Tennessee Titans

Damien Williams zig-zags his way through the Titans defence and that's another touchdown for the Chiefs, this one from three-yards.

Harrison Butker again adds the extra. The Titans were 10-0 ahead in the first quarter, 17-7 in front in the second but that looks a long time ago now as the Chiefs have sprinted to a 28-17 advantage.

Mahomes tests his arm again and, yet again, finds Tyreek Hill. The Titans smuggle him out of bounds but the Chiefs have another first and goal from three yards out.

That's the end of the third quarter, but the Chiefs have a great chance to stretch their lead in a few minutes' time.

We're up to 103 decibels from the home crowd, a bit less than a rock concert according to an on-screen graphic. Expect more noise later on. If you've got a ticket for this one you are certainly enjoying yourself.

Almost another one for the Patrick Mahomes - Tyreek Hill highlight reel. They've combined for two of the three Chiefs touchdowns, before Mahomes sprinted home for the third one.

This time, after a fine throw from the quarterback, the ball bounces in and bounces out of Hill's arms and the Chiefs, who scored 14 points in the second quarter, have to punt early in the third.
