It was a battle of the most valuable players at Baltimore with Lamar Jackson and Patrick Mahomes coming face to face in Sunday's late game.

Baltimore Ravens quarterback Jackson was the standout star for the injury-hit side as the Ravens recovered from an 11-point deficit to beat Mahomes' Kansas City Chiefs 36-35.

Jackson, the 2019 MVP, overcame two first-quarter interceptions to rally the home crowd and score two fourth-quarter touchdowns, with the second putting the Ravens up by one point.

This was Jackson's maiden career win over 2018 MVP Mahomes. It was also Mahomes' first-ever defeat in September.

Tom Brady threw five touchdown passes - including two to Rob Gronkowski - as the Tampa Bay Buccaneers won 48-25 against the Atlanta Falcons.

Leading 28-25 at the start of the fourth quarter, the Bucs pulled away as Chris Godwin claimed a TD before Mike Edwards returned two interceptions for touchdowns.

Brady extended his record for Super Bowl wins to seven with Tampa Bay last season and the veteran quarterback, 44, has thrown for nine scores in the first two games of the new campaign.

Randy Bullock kicked four field goals as the Tennessee Titans rallied to win 33-30 at the Seattle Seahawks in overtime. Star running back Derrick Henry rushed 35 times for 182 yards and three touchdowns - all in the second half.

The Titans came back from 24-9 down at the half and 30-16 in the fourth quarter to tie it up with 29 seconds left in regulation, before Bullock kicked a 36-yarder with 4:50 remaining in overtime to claim the win.

Greg Zuerlein missed two field goals as the Dallas Cowboys lost the season opener to Tampa Bay after a field goal at the death.

But the Cowboys kicker made amends this Sunday at SoFi Stadium by converting a 56-yard field goal with no time remaining to give the Cowboys a 20-17 win at the Los Angeles Chargers.

Kyler Murray had another all-action game as the Arizona Cardinals were also celebrating after late drama.

The number one draft pick in 2019 passed for three touchdowns, ran for another and contributed 431 yards in total offence. The elusive quarterback also threw two interceptions but found Christian Kirk on a 35-yard fadeaway jump pass to set up the opportunity for Matt Prater to kick the eventual game-winning field goal with 4:25 to play.

Greg Joseph missed a 37-yard field-goal attempt for the Minnesota Vikings, allowing Arizona to hold on for a 34-33 victory.

The Las Vegas Raiders are also 2-0 after Derek Carr threw for 382 yards and two touchdowns in a 26-17 win over the Pittsburgh Steelers.

There were two divisional match-ups in the AFC East, with Josh Allen passing for 179 yards and two touchdowns as the Buffalo Bills eased to a 35-0 shutout of the Miami Dolphins, who lost quarterback Tua Tagovailoa to a rib injury in the first quarter.

Elsewhere in the AFC East, Mac Jones prevailed in a battle of highly-touted rookie quarterbacks as the New England Patriots won 25-6 at the New York Jets, for whom Zach Wilson threw four interceptions.

The Los Angeles Rams surrendered an 11-point lead before coming from behind in the final quarter to win 27-24 at the Indianapolis Colts, with new quarterback Matthew Stafford passing for two touchdowns to Cooper Kupp and a total of 278 yards.

Baker Mayfield threw for a touchdown and rushed for another as the Cleveland Browns bounced back from their season-opening loss at Kansas City to win 31-21 over the Houston Texans.

Roquan Smith had eight tackles, one sack and an interception return for a 53-yard score as the Chicago Bears held on for a 20-17 win over the Cincinnati Bengals.

Field goal - Titans win!published at 00:55 British Summer Time 20 September 2021

Tennessee Titans 33-30 Seattle Seahawks (OT)

Seattle have to punt it away right in the shadow of their own goal line after Russell Wilson is sacked.

With perfect field position, the Titans run Derrick Henry for three plays to set up Randy Bullock for the 36-yarder to seal the win.

And the kick is good! Tennessee pull off a superb victory.

  12. Postpublished at 00:44 British Summer Time 20 September 2021

    Tennessee Titans 30-30 Seattle Seahawks

Scrappy start to overtime with penalty flags on the field already - particularly bad one against the Seahawks with their pass rusher slamming in helmet-to-helmet on Ryan Tannehill.

Exactly the kind of hit the NFL are trying to get rid of.

  14. That's another record for Bradypublished at 00:39 British Summer Time 20 September 2021

Atlanta Falcons 25-48 Tampa Bay Buccaneers

    Tom Brady is just ridiculous!

Another record he and his team have broken is that they've now won nine straight games, scoring at least 30 points each time.

The previous record was eight consecutive wins with 30-plus points, and held by two teams - both the Patriots (2007 & 2010) and both led by QB Brady.

He's so good the only records left for him to break are his own!

  15. Full-time - We're going to overtime!published at 00:36 British Summer Time 20 September 2021

    Tennessee Titans 30-30 Seattle Seahawks

Just for a moment I thought Mike Vrabel would try and win this one and go for two after the touchdown - maybe give Derrick Henry another chance to barge over, but he opted for the kick and then Seattle couldn't muster up a miracle so to overtime we go.

  16. That's a record - History for Herbertpublished at 00:34 British Summer Time 20 September 2021

Dallas Cowboys 20-17 Los Angeles Chargers

He may have lost, but Justin Herbert entered the most exclusive of clubs as he became just the third QB ever to have 10 300-yard passing games in his first two seasons.

The other two? Oh, only Dan Marino and Patrick Mahomes...

Titans Touchdownpublished at 00:29 British Summer Time 20 September 2021

    Tennessee Titans 30-30 Seattle Seahawks

Derrick Henry at his bulldozing best sees him barge over from just inches after he himself had been ruled just shy of the end zone by the officials.

Kicker Randy Bullock slots the extra point – just – to make this a tied game with 29 seconds left to play.

Just a reminder that Seattle kicker Jason Myers missed a regular extra point earlier....

  18. Full-time - Bucs winpublished at 00:25 British Summer Time 20 September 2021

Atlanta Falcons 25-48 Tampa Bay Buccaneers

Just the FIVE TD passes for Tom Brady in an emphatic Tampa Bay victory, just like we expected against the struggling Falcons.

Brady's Bucs start 2-0 in their quest to retain their Super Bowl title.

  19. Full-time - Cardinals winpublished at 00:22 British Summer Time 20 September 2021

    Minnesota Vikings 33-34 Arizona Cardinals

Oh no! Greg 'the leg' Zuerlein won the game for Dallas but Greg Joseph can't repeat that for the Vikings as he misses what's a sitter for an NFL kicker - sending his effort from just 37 yards wide right.

Minnesota had worked so hard getting down the field too, with Kirk Cousins letting it fly to drive his team into position.

    That's a sickener.

Field goal - Cowboys win!published at 00:19 British Summer Time 20 September 2021

Dallas Cowboys 20-17 Los Angeles Chargers

Greg Zuerlein is the hero for Dallas as he spanks a 56-yarder well over the bar - no wonder he's known as 'Legatron' as that had more than enough juice in it.

What a game that was. The Chargers will be kicking themselves with those soft penalties costing them dear in the end.

Both sides go 1-1 for the season.
