  1. touchdown

Rams Touchdownpublished at 20:34 British Summer Time 19 September 2021

Los Angeles Rams 24-21 Indianapolis Colts

How about this for a response - Matt Stafford and Cooper Kupp look like instant BFFs and they hook up for a big 44-yard gain before connecting on a 10-yard score on the very next play.

And just like that, in two plays, LA are back in front.

  2. Big turnaround by Garoppolopublished at 20:33 British Summer Time 19 September 2021

San Francisco 49ers 14-3 Philadelphia Eagles

That was a 16-play drive by the 49ers, lasting almost nine minutes, and now the Eagles must be wondering what happened with this game.

They were well on top late in the second quarter, without having the points to show for it, and Jimmy Garoppolo was struggling.

Now the 49ers quarterback has thrown for 181 yards, completed 21 of 29 passes and thrown for one touchdown while rushing for another.

  3. touchdown

Texans Touchdownpublished at 20:32 British Summer Time 19 September 2021

    Houston Texans 21-24 Cleveland Browns

How about that back-up QB, rookie Davis Mills eh? He's got Houston back in the game with a quick slant to Brandin Cooks for the touchdown.

It looks simple and Cooks is too quick for the Browns defenders to get anywhere near him, but it's surprisingly difficult for the QBs to get the ball out of their hands so quick under pressure.

    Nice throw rookie.

  4. touchdown

49ers Touchdownpublished at 20:27 British Summer Time 19 September 2021

San Francisco 49ers 14-3 Philadelphia Eagles

San Francisco raced clear last week and were comfortable against the Detroit Lions before holding on in a nervy finish. They're having to grind it out this week though.

Jimmy Garoppolo spreads it round on this drive, which continues into the fourth quarter, before Elijah Mitchell forces his way over from a yard... or did he? The touchdown's chalked off.

No matter, on the very next play Garoppolo gets in from a quarterback sneak for his first rushing touchdown in two years.

  5. touchdown

Colts Touchdownpublished at 20:25 British Summer Time 19 September 2021

Los Angeles Rams 17-21 Indianapolis Colts

    Look away now Rams fans...

Ashton Dulin has officially been credited with a ZERO yard fumble recovery touchdown but what you really need to know is just how bad that special teams play was by LA.

The long snapper hit the personal protector's arm with the ball when he was looking to fire it back to the punter, from there it's just a scramble and the Colts end up with the score, and the lead.

    A comedy of errors.

  7. touchdown

Bills Touchdownpublished at 20:20 British Summer Time 19 September 2021

    Buffalo Bills 21-0 Miami Dolphins

Josh Allen and the Bills have had it all their own way in Miami - as they usually do with their winning streak against the Dolphins set to continue after Dawson Knox caught the touchdown pass.

  8. ouch!

  9. touchdown

Bears Touchdownpublished at 20:16 British Summer Time 19 September 2021

    Cincinnati Bengals 3-14 Chicago Bears

After 199 passes without an interception, Joe Burrow finally throws another pick, but it's the big one as it's turned into a pix sic by Roquan Smith.

The big linebacker ghosts under thr Burrow radar, grabs the ball and shows a nifty bit of footwork actually for big guy before also showing so wheels to race into the end zone.

Nobody really fancied trying to stop the big fella anyway...

  10. Eagles lose Graham & Brookspublished at 20:13 British Summer Time 19 September 2021

  11. field goal

Browns field goalpublished at 20:09 British Summer Time 19 September 2021

    Houston Texans 14-24 Cleveland Browns

Chase McLaughlin splits the uprights as Cleveland just pull away now to a 10-point lead. It's been far from easy, though, even though Texans QB Tyrod Taylor has been forced out of the game and third-round rookie Davis Mills is now under centre.

  12. Postpublished at 20:08 British Summer Time 19 September 2021

San Francisco 49ers 7-3 Philadelphia Eagles

Miles Sanders makes three straight runs up the gut to move the chains for the Eagles.

Again the drive peters out for Philly though. After 11 plays, they have to punt.

  13. touchdown

Colts Touchdownpublished at 20:07 British Summer Time 19 September 2021

Los Angeles Rams 17-14 Indianapolis Colts

    Game on in Indy!

Carson Wentz is scrapping for his life here and he does well not only to find Zach Pascal in the end zone for the touchdown but also to hit tight end Jack Doyle for the two-point conversion to really put the squeeze on the Rams.

The Colts haven't really been that in the game but they're right in it now. Looks like two good, solid teams at work here.

    Certainly two play-off teams.

  14. Postpublished at 20:02 British Summer Time 19 September 2021

Los Angeles Rams 17-6 Indianapolis Colts

    You're outta here!

The refs don't quite have the gusto that the baseball officials have when tossing someone out of the game, but nevertheless, Kenny Young is out for the Rams.

Cheers Michael, cheque's in the post!! And no, we'll be signing off just before the Chiefs-Ravens game I'm afraid.

Some mouth-watering prospects before that though... Kyler Murray, Tom Brady, Russell Wilson and Dak Prescott are all in action in the later games.

  16. Defences on top in Phillypublished at 19:58 British Summer Time 19 September 2021

San Francisco 49ers 7-3 Philadelphia Eagles

San Francisco grabbed the game's first touchdown right before the break but defences are now well and truly back on top in Philly.

The Eagles and the 49ers are forced to punt on their first possessions of the second half.

  17. touchdown

Browns Touchdownpublished at 19:58 British Summer Time 19 September 2021

    Houston Texans 14-21 Cleveland Browns

What does a sixth-round pick number 211 in the NFL Draft get you? Well, it gets you this monster 33-yard touchdown from rookie Demetric Felton.

Who? Yep, that was my response too, but in a team with Nick Chubb and Kareen Hunt it's Felton who has shown them the way with this sprinting, juking, twisting, elusive run that I've run out of adjectives for.

What I do know is that just seconds after Harris ran in that brute of a score for the Patriots that's a whopping back-to-back touchdown sequence.

  18. touchdown

Patriots Touchdownpublished at 19:53 British Summer Time 19 September 2021

New England Patriots 19-3 New York Jets

Damien Harris runs the ball here like a deeply angry man, and it works a treat as he just bounces through the line, bounces off would-be tacklers and bounces his way into the end zone.

He gets the last couple of yards with the help of some of his mates behind him and that's one of the hardest-earned 26-yard scores you'll ever see.

I'll get a few bruises just writing about that touchdown it was so brutal!

  20. ANOTHER Jets Turnoverpublished at 19:48 British Summer Time 19 September 2021

New England Patriots 13-3 New York Jets

    Zach WilsonImage source, Getty Images

Feels like I should be using the ugly emoji for this post, but it's poor old Zach Wilson again who has just thrown his FOURTH interception of the day for the Jets.

I say old, he's 22 and a starting quarterback in the NFL so I've got limited sympathy, but his head must be spinning right now. That's what evil genius Bill Belichick usually does with rookie QBs, though. Now that guy has no sympathy for them whatsoever!

It just shows that these rookie QBs still need a decent team around them to shine - Zach Wilson certainly does not have that right now.
