  2. touchdown

Touchdown - Pantherspublished at 19:47 Greenwich Mean Time 12 December 2021

    Atlanta Falcons 17-14 Carolina Panthers

Cam Newton is back out for the start of the second half and soon gets clattered after doing just enough for a first down.

No matter. Two plays later, Newton gains another 11 yards with his feet before handing off for Chuba Hubbard to scoot in from 17 yards.

  4. field goal

Field goal - Raiderspublished at 19:42 Greenwich Mean Time 12 December 2021

Las Vegas Raiders 3-35 Kansas City Chiefs

At least the Raiders didn't get shutout in that first half - that's about as nice as you can be about that first 30 minutes as Daniel Carlson kicks a 26-yarder.

  5. field goal

Field goal - Ravenspublished at 19:37 Greenwich Mean Time 12 December 2021

    Baltimore Ravens 6-24 Cleveland Browns

Justin Tucker makes his kick, as he always does, to draw the Ravens a bit closer as we go into half time with the browns in control 18 points in front.

Perhaps more importantly for the rest of the season though is how Lamar Jackson's ankle is....

  6. field goal

Field goalspublished at 19:35 Greenwich Mean Time 12 December 2021

The Jets and the Texans kick field goals right on the half, with Houston's Ka'imi Fairbairn making a whopper from 61 yards:

    • Seattle Seahawks 16-13 Houston Texans
    • New Orleans Saints 10-6 New York Jets
  7. Turnover - Walker intercepted after Newton benchedpublished at 19:31 Greenwich Mean Time 12 December 2021

    Atlanta Falcons 17-7 Carolina Panthers

Cam Newton scored a touchdown on Carolina's first drive of the day, gave up a pick six on their third and the Panthers had to punt on their fourth.

So PJ Walker comes in under centre for their fifth... and coughs up another interception from his second throw.

It's one thing getting benched late on, another entirely to be sat down before the half.

The Falcons had kicked a field goal on the previous drive to make it a 10-point game.

  8. touchdown

Touchdown - Brownspublished at 19:28 Greenwich Mean Time 12 December 2021

    Baltimore Ravens 3-24 Cleveland Browns

Myles Garrett does everything on this score with another huge defensive play that are becoming a theme of the evening. He strips back-up QB Tyler Huntley and scoops it up himself to rumble in the touchdown from 15 yards out.

    Cleveland in control now.

  9. touchdown

Touchdown - Seahawkspublished at 19:27 Greenwich Mean Time 12 December 2021

    Seattle Seahawks 16-10 Houston Texans

Seattle force Houston to go three-and-out and on the first play of the next drive, Russell Wilson scrambles out of the pocket before airing it out and it drops right in front of the end zone, with Tyler Lockett underneath it, for a 55-yard touchdown. Boom!!

  10. touchdown

Touchdown - Chiefspublished at 19:26 Greenwich Mean Time 12 December 2021

Las Vegas Raiders 0-35 Kansas City Chiefs

Should they even bother coming out for the second half? Vegas might take a 35-point defeat at this stage as it could get worse unless the Chiefs start to rest their starters in the second half.

Clyde Edwards-Helaire runs in his second score of the game as we already reach blowout status with just a minute left of the first half.

  11. touchdown

Touchdown - Saintspublished at 19:16 Greenwich Mean Time 12 December 2021

New Orleans Saints 10-3 New York Jets

Alvin Kamara is back on the field for New Orleans today and now he's back in the end zone, running to the right before beating a man with a jump cut and holding off another to roll over for a 16-yard touchdown.

That's the 16th touch already for the Saints' star running back.

  12. Turnover - Chiefs again!published at 19:14 Greenwich Mean Time 12 December 2021

Las Vegas Raiders 0-28 Kansas City Chiefs

The raiders shoot themselves in the foot again as receiver Hunter Renfrow fumbles after a catch and Tyrann Mathieu claims the ball to add to his earlier interception with a fumble recovery.

That's three turnovers from Las Vegas, who have just 89 yards of offence and four first downs so far. They won here last season and did a lap of honour in their bus after the game, something tells me they'll be heading right off home after this one.

  13. field goal

Field goal - Texanspublished at 19:07 Greenwich Mean Time 12 December 2021

    Seattle Seahawks 10-10 Houston Texans

The Texans eat up almost nine minutes on a drive lasting 16 plays before settling for a 21-yard field goal by Ka'imi Fairbairn to level things up.

  14. touchdown

Touchdown - Chiefspublished at 19:07 Greenwich Mean Time 12 December 2021

Las Vegas Raiders 0-28 Kansas City Chiefs

Josh Gordon is back in the end zone from a quick Patrick Mahomes pass right on the goal line. Gordon could be a real asset if he can find some of his old form - especially as a red zone threat as he's a huge receiver with gifts of size, speed and great hands.

The Raiders can probably start the bus now.

  15. touchdown

Touchdown - Brownspublished at 19:05 Greenwich Mean Time 12 December 2021

    Baltimore Ravens 0-17 Cleveland Browns

Cleveland in close range go play-action and Baltimore bite on it allowing tight end Austin Hooper to get free and catch the short touchdown pass from Baker Mayfield - his second of the day.

This looks like being yet another big day of movement with the AFC North leading Ravens struggling and losing Lamar Jackson - this could have big implications down the stretch.

  16. Turnover - pick six on Newtonpublished at 19:04 Greenwich Mean Time 12 December 2021

    Atlanta Falcons 14-7 Carolina Panthers

Cam Newton tries to make a short pass down the middle but linebacker Mykal Walker reads it all the way to pick it off then run it back all the way to the house for a 66-yard touchdown.

And just to rub salt in the wounds, a blocker forces Newton to trip over as the Carolina quarterback tries to chase back to make amends.

  17. Parsons again!published at 19:03 Greenwich Mean Time 12 December 2021

Dallas Cowboys 18-0 Washington Football Team

Micah Parsons may not be human! He's sacked Taylor Heinicke again, that's his second of the day and 12th of the season - that puts him in tied fourth in the league.

He's not even a pure edge rusher! And he's a rookie! He tosses Heinicke down like a rag doll in his latest sack - what a player.

Andrew Priestley: Let’s just remember that around this time last year the Bucs were 7-5 before going on their championship-winning run. It’s still all to play for for many of these teams. Get into the play-offs in January, hit form and who knows!

Indeed Andrew. So people, who do you think is most likely to repeat the Bucs' feat this time round?

  20. field goal

Field goal - Jetspublished at 18:55 Greenwich Mean Time 12 December 2021

New Orleans Saints 3-3 New York Jets

The Jets' rookie quarterback Zach Wilson makes his biggest run of the year, an 18-yard scramble, to spark a drive which results in a 36-yard field goal by Eddy Pineiro.
