    No matter. Two plays later, Newton gains another 11 yards with his feet before handing off for Chuba Hubbard to scoot in from 17 yards.

    Cam Newton scored a touchdown on Carolina's first drive of the day, gave up a pick six on their third and the Panthers had to punt on their fourth.

    So PJ Walker comes in under centre for their fifth... and coughs up another interception from his second throw.

    It's one thing getting benched late on, another entirely to be sat down before the half.

    The Falcons had kicked a field goal on the previous drive to make it a 10-point game.

    Myles Garrett does everything on this score with another huge defensive play that are becoming a theme of the evening. He strips back-up QB Tyler Huntley and scoops it up himself to rumble in the touchdown from 15 yards out.

    Cleveland in control now.

    Seattle Seahawks 16-10 Houston Texans

    Seattle force Houston to go three-and-out and on the first play of the next drive, Russell Wilson scrambles out of the pocket before airing it out and it drops right in front of the end zone, with Tyler Lockett underneath it, for a 55-yard touchdown. Boom!!

    Should they even bother coming out for the second half? Vegas might take a 35-point defeat at this stage as it could get worse unless the Chiefs start to rest their starters in the second half.

    Clyde Edwards-Helaire runs in his second score of the game as we already reach blowout status with just a minute left of the first half.

    Alvin Kamara is back on the field for New Orleans today and now he's back in the end zone, running to the right before beating a man with a jump cut and holding off another to roll over for a 16-yard touchdown.

    That's the 16th touch already for the Saints' star running back.

  12. Turnover - Chiefs again!

    The raiders shoot themselves in the foot again as receiver Hunter Renfrow fumbles after a catch and Tyrann Mathieu claims the ball to add to his earlier interception with a fumble recovery.

    That's three turnovers from Las Vegas, who have just 89 yards of offence and four first downs so far. They won here last season and did a lap of honour in their bus after the game, something tells me they'll be heading right off home after this one.

    The Texans eat up almost nine minutes on a drive lasting 16 plays before settling for a 21-yard field goal by Ka'imi Fairbairn to level things up.

    Josh Gordon is back in the end zone from a quick Patrick Mahomes pass right on the goal line. Gordon could be a real asset if he can find some of his old form - especially as a red zone threat as he's a huge receiver with gifts of size, speed and great hands.

    The Raiders can probably start the bus now.

    Baltimore Ravens 0-17 Cleveland Browns

    Cleveland in close range go play-action and Baltimore bite on it allowing tight end Austin Hooper to get free and catch the short touchdown pass from Baker Mayfield - his second of the day.

    This looks like being yet another big day of movement with the AFC North leading Ravens struggling and losing Lamar Jackson - this could have big implications down the stretch.

  16. Turnover - pick six on Newton

    Atlanta Falcons 14-7 Carolina Panthers

    Cam Newton tries to make a short pass down the middle but linebacker Mykal Walker reads it all the way to pick it off then run it back all the way to the house for a 66-yard touchdown.

    And just to rub salt in the wounds, a blocker forces Newton to trip over as the Carolina quarterback tries to chase back to make amends.
