Summary

  1. 50 runs

50 for Haseeb Hameedpublished at 12:58 British Summer Time 22 June

    Notts 85-0 v Yorks

Haseeb Hameed turns a single to midwicket and moves to his half century from 93 deliveries.

It's the sixth time he's reached the milestone this season and he's looked in fine touch.

  2. wicket

WICKETpublished at 12:53 British Summer Time 22 June

    Libby b Clark 28 (Worcs 70-2 v Surrey)

    Surrey needed that.

Worcestershire were looking really settled but Jake Libby goes for a big drive and Jordan Clark gets it through him and the home skipper is bowled.

Clark roars with delight - it's a big wicket just before lunch.

  3. Sussex gently pootling alongpublished at 12:50 British Summer Time 22 June

    Sussex 86-2 v Durham

    Martin Emmerson
    BBC Radio Newcastle

Sussex chose to bat earlier and struggled initially, as Ben Raine bowled Tom Haines for four in the third over. Five of his first seven overs were maidens.

Tom Clark also found the going tough and took nearly 20 deliveries to get off the mark, but then put on more than 50 with Australian Daniel Hughes before Clark was bowled for 30.

This is one of two back-to-back Kookaburra ball games and last season they were awful to watch. They offer very little for the bowlers, so I wouldn't be surprised if Sussex rack up a decent score. However, they are gently pootling along at three an over at the minute.

Jofra Archer is playing in his first Championship match for four years. He's just had a net session with his England colleague, the Durham fast bowler Mark Wood, who is also returning from injury.

  4. 100 runs

Wicket + not quite 100 for Glamorgan's opening pairpublished at 12:48 British Summer Time 22 June

    Ul Hasan c Handscomb b Wright 35 (Leicestershire v Glamorgan 98-1)

I was already typing how a hundred partnership is going to be a theme across today and the following seven days of Kookaburra cricket sadly for those fans of ball beating bat.

As opening batters know how big they can and should go against this ball on flat June pitches.

But on 98-0 Zain ul Hasan is caught by Peter Handscomb off Chris Wright for 36 off 85 balls.

Four boundaries, the less expansive of the pair, as Leicestershire's patience pays off as it also gets darker over Grace Road - the floodlights can be used until 19:00 BST, unlike at Cardiff where they cannot be used for Championship cricket because of Council restrictions.

    Sam Northeast in at three.

Before play began on the third day of the first Test at Headingley, former England and Middlesex spinner Phil Tufnell paid tribute to David 'Syd' Lawrence following the former Gloucestershire paceman's death at the age of 61.

The pair locked horns on the county circuit but were also England team-mates, including on the 1992 tour of New Zealand during which Lawrence suffered a serious knee injury which effectively ended his career.

  6. wicket

WICKETpublished at 12:44 British Summer Time 22 June

    Clark b Drissell 30 (Durham v Sussex 85-2)

That has taken everyone by surprise.

George Drissell gets one through the defences of Tom Clark as he tries to cut the ball away and he is bowled for 30.

Batting had looked very comfortable and that did not seem to spin or turn.

  7. Postpublished at 12:43 British Summer Time 22 June

    Worcs 63-1 v Surrey

Right, it's not Mitchell Santner who bowls spin first for Surrey, it's not even Dan Lawrence, no, it's Will Jacks.

Henry Nicholls paddles him for a single first ball.

  8. wicket

WICKETpublished at 12:41 British Summer Time 22 June

    Bell-Drummond c Hurst b Balderson 13 (Lancashire v Kent 82-2)

    George Balderson gets his man.

It's been a threatening spell from the Lancashire paceman and it gets its reward as Daniel Bell-Drummond nicks one behind through the gate.

  9. Postpublished at 12:39 British Summer Time 22 June

    Essex 77-3 v Hants

A touch of fortune for Essex's Matt Critchley, as a thick inside edge evades the stumps.

No such luck required for his captain Tom Westley, who rocks back and hammers a pull shot off James Fuller's bowling in front of square for four.

  10. Early lunch taken at Edgbastonpublished at 12:37 British Summer Time 22 June

    Warwickshire v Somerset 71-0

The umpires did not fancy complicated mathematics today so rather than take lunch now we are going to wait until 12:40 for the lunch break to officially start, meanwhile most of the 22 players are already into their second helpings!

The full sheets covering the bowlers run-ups are eventually being pulled on just as the rain relents.

We will not be able to resume here until 13:20 BST at the earliest, despite the sun already starting to poke back through the clouds.

  11. Division Two updatepublished at 12:35 British Summer Time 22 June

With rain still falling in Bristol, an early lunch has been taken by Gloucestershire and Derbyshire. The hosts are 35-0 after 12.2 overs.

Middlesex probably wouldn't mind a few spots of rain in Northampton. They're down to 95-4 after Ryan Higgins was trapped lbw for 25 by Justin Broad.

Leus de Plooy holding firm on 35no for the visitors but Northants well on top thanks to Liam Guthrie's early three-wicket burst.

  12. Postpublished at 12:35 British Summer Time 22 June

    Worcs 57-1 v Surrey

Henry Nicholls tucks into a long half-volley from Tom Lawes and flicks it away to the mid-wicket fence.

Nicholls and Jake Libby have played watchfully but have been quick to seize on anything loose.

  13. 50 runs

50 for Tribepublished at 12:34 British Summer Time 22 June

    Leicestershire v Glamorgan 87-0

Jersey international Asa Tribe earns his fifth first-class 50, his third in the Championship this year. 10 boundaries in this knock.

A 63* in the Blast match at Bristol last Friday has given him confidence to take into the longer format and the scoring rate shows that too.

He gets there with a flick to leg athletically hauled in by Logan van Beek, saving two.

  15. Postpublished at 12:28 British Summer Time 22 June

    Lancashire v Kent 70-1

George Balderson's line and length is causing the Kent batters a few problems.

But Ben Compton has played a very smart innings for the visitors, unbeaten on 20 off 62 balls.

Balderson has a small shout for lbw on Daniel Bell-Drummond but no dice.

  16. 50 runs

50 UP FOR WORCESTERSHIREpublished at 12:27 British Summer Time 22 June

    Worcs 50-1 v Surrey

Surrey go for their fifth seam-bowling option as Jordan Clark is introduced to the attack.

He starts with a maiden before Worcestershire bring up their 50 with a couple of runs for Henry Nicholls off the bowling of Tom Lawes.

  17. 50 runs

50 PARTNERSHIPpublished at 12:25 British Summer Time 22 June

    Durham v Sussex 59-1

A 50 partnership between Daniel Hughes and Tom Clark for Sussex with just the one scare where Durham were convinced Hughes had edged one but umpire Peter Hartley didn't hear anything.

Seven maidens in Durham's 21 overs they've sent down this morning.

The Statman Cometh: RIP Syd. Still the only England pace bowler to take 5 or more vs the WI at the Oval (in their 2nd innings).

  19. 50 runs

50 UP FOR SUSSEXpublished at 12:19 British Summer Time 22 June

    Durham v Sussex 52-1

Tom Clark climbs into an inviting delivery from Durham debutant Sam Conners and the ball races away to the boundary.

Steady stuff from the visitors after the early loss of Tom Haines and the 50 is up for Sussex.

  20. dropped catch

Dropped catchpublished at 12:18 British Summer Time 22 June

    Notts 51-0 v Yorks

The first chance of the morning for Yorkshire goes begging.

Ben Slater drives uppishly at Dan Moriarty and offers a chance to Dom Bess in the covers, but it bursts straight through his hands.

As is so often the way, Slater carves the next delivery to the boundary for four.
