Summary

  1. wicket

WICKETpublished at 14:29 British Summer Time 22 June

    Northeast c Handscomb b Wood 21 (Leicestershire v Glamorgan 145-2)

Sam Wood has Sam Northeast missing out on a short ball just tickling behind. The man of many counties, plus that incredible score first game at Lords last year, does not look happy but he has to go.

Kiran Carlson in at four whilst Asa Tribe is 82*.

Division Two leaders Leicestershire will be pleased to have broken that 47-run stand.

  2. 50 runs

50 for Critchleypublished at 14:28 British Summer Time 22 June

    Essex 125-4 v Hants

Matt Critchley batting for EssexImage source, Rex Features

Essex were in a spot of bother when Matt Critchley came to the crease this morning, but he's batted well under pressure.

He pulls Felix Organ's off-spin away for four to reach his half century and then drives the next delivery down the ground imperiously for four more.

  3. Postpublished at 14:25 British Summer Time 22 June

    Warwickshire v Somerset 98-0

The most likely way Warwickshire look like taking a wicket here is through a run out.

Twice there have been mix ups with Josh Davey wanting to run but the man renowned for his boundary hitting, Tom Kohler-Cadmore, turning the run down. Again, Davey ran more than 22 yards, getting almost a third the way down and back in.

Jacob Bethell again with the misfield.

  4. dropped catch

Dropped catchpublished at 14:25 British Summer Time 22 June

    Worcs 92-5 v Surrey

Matthew Waite drives on the up and Mitchell Santner dives away to his left but can't hang on - the ball was very low and it would have been a very good catch but the Kiwi's reaction tells us he thinks he should have caught it.

  5. wicket

WICKETpublished at 14:24 British Summer Time 22 June

    McCann c Bairstow b O'Rourke 23 (Notts 121-2 v Yorks)

Freddie McCann came out and batted with real intent after Haseeb Hameed was dismissed, but he's undone by a well-directed short ball by Will O'Rourke.

McCann can only feather it through to the waiting gloves of Jonny Bairstow, who pouches it safely.

  6. Postpublished at 14:22 British Summer Time 22 June

    Leicestershire v Glamorgan 144-1

The home side continue to cycle through their five seamers, Liam Trevaskis not yet to bowl again since the customary one before lunch effort.

Sam Northeast is 21* whilst Asa Tribe nears a maiden first-class century, his previous best was 94, he is now 81*.

  7. 6 runs

SIX AND A WICKETpublished at 14:17 British Summer Time 22 June

Hose lbw Clark 9 (Worcs 87-5 v Surrey)

Adam Hose has seen Jordan Clark go past the outside edge of his bat three times since the interval but he gets a bit of revenge by pulling the Surrey man into the stands.

Speaking of revenge, Clark gets his the very next ball as Hose pads-up and doesn't bother waiting for the finger to go up - lbw all day, every day of the week.,

It's getting messy for Worcestershire now.

  8. 50 runs

50 for Tom Kohler-Cadmorepublished at 14:16 British Summer Time 22 June

    Warwickshire v Somerset 89-0

Former Pear Tom Kohler-Cadmore gets the ideal ball to go to 50 off 67 with a straight drive for four off a low full toss.

He'll be more than happy with his first red ball knock of the year having missed the first seven rounds through his extended Rajasthan Royals commitments in the IPL and not being picked for the last couple rounds prior to the Blast commencing.

Che Simmons follows up with a front foot no ball to boot.

Warwickshire already looking deflated by the ball, the pitch and this partnership, perhaps already wishing the rain would come down again.

  9. Division Two updatepublished at 14:10 British Summer Time 22 June

Wickets have fallen post-lunch in both Bristol and Northampton.

Derbyshire have snaffled Joe Phillips for 27 to reduce Gloucestershire to 69-1 in a game interrupted by rain earlier.

Northants have claimed the big wicket of Leus du Plooy (66) to leave Middlesex in bother at 155-5. He's the fourth batter to fall to Liam Guthrie (4-56), who is having a sparkling day so far.

  10. Postpublished at 14:09 British Summer Time 22 June

    Warwickshire v Somerset 78-0

Still no Ed Barnard for Warwickshire, nor their specifically signed Aussie overseas spinner Corey Rocchiccioli who's here for four matches due to his comfort with the Kookaburra ball.

Ethan Bamber understandably gets a go as one of two main strike bowlers after lunch, but the three waiting slips have had precious little to even sniff at thus far.

  11. wicket

WICKETpublished at 14:09 British Summer Time 22 June

    Nicholls c Burns b Fisher 31 (Worcs 77-4 v Surrey)

Surrey are working their way through this Worcestershire line up now.

Matt Fisher has bowled beautifully all day and he finds the outside edge of Henry Nicholls' bat to nab his second of the innings.

Nicholls didn't do a lot wrong there - it was one he had to play.

Fisher now has 2-10 from his 9.3 overs.

  12. Postpublished at 14:06 British Summer Time 22 June

    Worcs 77-3 v Surrey

It has been tough going for the Worcestershire batsmen after the break.

That double strike by Surrey just before lunch has put a spring in their step.

Only seven runs have been added with Henry Nicholls currently 31 not out.

  13. 'Durham will be the happier'published at 14:05 British Summer Time 22 June

    Durham v Sussex 109-3

    Adrian Harms
    BBC Sussex

Durham will probably be the happier of the two at the moment.

At 109-3 the top three are all back in the pavilion and you've got two youngsters at the wicket so Durham will feel if they can get another one out they will be on top.

  14. Postpublished at 14:03 British Summer Time 22 June

    Warwickshire v Somerset 71-0

    Back under way at Edgbaston.

More than 90 minutes later, Jacob Bethell is allowed to complete his fourth over which he does with a dot to sneak his economy rate just under six runs per over.

Wonder if England are lining him up to replace Bashir or a seamer to lengthen the batting in a future test (maybe the Edgbaston one?) and have asked Warwickshire to bowl him a lot this game?

  15. 'Just what Yorkshire needed'published at 14:02 British Summer Time 22 June

    Notts 91-1 v Yorkshire

    Dave Bracegirdle
    BBC Radio Nottingham commentator

Just what Yorkshire required. Hameed will be disappointed not to have gone on [after his half century].

It was an inside edge, a tickle and Bairstow successfully hung on. That was just the second ball of the session.

  16. wicket

WICKETpublished at 13:59 British Summer Time 22 June

    Hughes b de Leede 60 (Durham v Sussex 108-3)

Durham have their man and a bowling point on the board.

Daniel Hughes has got himself to 60 and there are plenty more runs out there on the evidence of the conditions but he plays all around a delivery from Bas de Leede and is bowled.

A good effort from the Sussex opener and Danial Ibrahim is the new man in for his first Championship appearance of the season.

  17. wicket

WICKETpublished at 13:58 British Summer Time 22 June

    Hameed c Bairstow b White 52 (Notts 90-1 v Yorks)

The players are back out at Trent Bridge and the small delay does the trick for Yorkshire.

A slight under edge as Haseeb Hameed looks to work to leg and Jonny Bairstow takes a sharp catch.

    The visitors needed that.

  18. wicket

WICKETpublished at 13:52 British Summer Time 22 June

    Westley lbw b Abbott 28 (Essex 97-4 v Hants)

    Hampshire celebrateImage source, Rex Features

Kyle Abbott has been the pick of the Hampshire bowlers today and he's straight back on the money after lunch.

He's going at less than one and a half runs per over as he holds an immaculate length and he nips one back onto the pads of Tom Westley.

It looks a touch high, but the umpire's finger goes up and the Essex captain has to go.

  19. 100 up for Sussexpublished at 13:52 British Summer Time 22 June

    Durham v Sussex 100-2

Sussex continue to go along quietly and solidly.

There's not a lot of encouragement out there for the home bowlers.

Daniel Hughes is up to 60 now.

  20. 2pm resumption at Edgbastonpublished at 13:51 British Summer Time 22 June

    Warwickshire v Somerset 71-0

    Harry Everett
    BBC Sport from Edgbaston

10 overs lost in the day, tea from 4.10 BST.

Really on the longest day of the year, common sense would say just play until you get the overs in, but anyhow at least the covers are being removed now ready for resumption.
