A tremendous morning for Sussex, battering the Derbyshire attack to all parts of Hove.

Australian Daniel Hughes has led the charge his 91 coming off just 88 balls with 14 fours and a six

Tom Haines has almost played second fiddle, his half-century containing nine boundaries

In truth, the Derbyshire bowling has been poor although had Wayne Madsen snaffled a difficult chance at second slip when Hughes was on 35, it may have been a different story.

Having won the toss and elected to bowl first, Derbyshire may well be regretting that decision at the interval

  2. 29 wickets fall in morning sessionpublished at 13:20 British Summer Time 29 August

Kent are seven down, Gloucestershire have lost six batters.

Worcestershire will be pleased to have only lost five as they were 10-4 early this morning.

No such problems for Sussex openers Daniel Hughes and Tom Haines though, the pair are unbeaten on 91 and 63 respectively.

  4. Lunch at Old Traffordpublished at 13:06 British Summer Time 29 August

    Lancashire v Hampshire 80-1

An attritional two hours of cricket in Manchester, but it is Hampshire who will be more satisfied.

After being asked to bat, the visitors have only lost one wicket with an unbroken second wicket stand of 73 between Fletcha Middleton and Nick Gubbins.

Gubbins, with 42, has 15 more than his partner and was accelerating nicely in the half-hour before lunch.

  5. Lunch at Edgbastonpublished at 13:04 British Summer Time 29 August

    Warks v Kent 123-7

Kent's hopes of staying in Division One are hanging by a thread, so two morning collapses were not the order.

They were 44-3 after regular setbacks in the opening 11 overs, but after Ben Compton (who is unbeaten on 48) and Joey Evison (28) had put on 57, they slumped again.

Michael Booth took three, and Ed Barnard the other, as four wickets fell for nine runs in the half an hour before lunch.

  6. Lunch at Headingleypublished at 13:04 British Summer Time 29 August

    Yorks 121-2 v Middx

Very much the home side's morning, with Adam Lyth and Finlay Bean racing out of the traps and, although both have since departed, the scoring rate has remained brisk.

James Wharton is 21 not out, with Will Luxton, who got off the mark with a classy shot off his pads for four against Noah Cornwell, on eight.

  7. Lunch at Trent Bridgepublished at 13:03 British Summer Time 29 August

    Notts v Surrey 88-1

Rory Burns, on 49, is content to play out the last three balls of Liam Patterson-White's final over before lunch.

The Surrey captain will be pretty satisfied after winning the toss and deciding to bat.

Notts have used 21 overs of spin, including a dozen from 16-year-old Farhan Ahmed, but it is only seamer Rob Lord with a wicket.

  8. Lunch at Tauntonpublished at 13:02 British Summer Time 29 August

    Somerset 120-3 v Durham

Good recovery by Somerset, with this partnership between Tom Abell and Tom Banton standing at 52.

Banton brought up the 50 partnership in the final over before lunch, cover driving George Drissell for four and he's on 28 at the interval, with Abell 37 not out.

  9. Lunch at Chelmsfordpublished at 13:02 British Summer Time 29 August

    Essex v Worcs 100-5

Jamie Porter was unplayable with the new ball.

He took 4-30, which with Sam Cook's 1-32, left Kent 10-4 and then 46-5.

But Brett D'Oliveira (31) and Ethan Brooks (34) have grafted well and taken a 54-run partnership to recover somewhat.

  10. dropped catch

Dropped catchpublished at 13:01 British Summer Time 29 August

    Essex v Worcs 100-5

Matt Critchley on for a quick over of leg-spin before lunch.

His first delivery is the perfect leg break, and the second is put down by Dean Elgar at first slip.

In fairness, it would have been a stunner from the former South Africa captain. It went like lightning to him.

  11. wicket

WICKET Stobo c Burgess b Booth 0published at 12:58 British Summer Time 29 August

    Warks v Kent 110-7

    Deep trouble for Kent.

Charlie Stobo wafts and edges Michael Booth behind. It is a brilliant diving catch from Michael Burgess.

Two wickets in three balls from Booth - he has 3-11.

  12. wicket

WICKET Stewart c Davies b Booth 6published at 12:56 British Summer Time 29 August

    Warks v Kent 110-6

A thick leading edge to cover.

Michael Booth got the ball to drift into Grant Stewart, who couldn't control his attempted clip into the leg side.

Warwickshire are completely on top again now.

  13. Postpublished at 12:55 British Summer Time 29 August

    Essex v Worcs 96-5

Who knew Crystal Palace midfielder Will Hughes was a good cricketer?

According to BBC Hereford and Worcester commentator Frank Watson, he was a "good little left-arm spinner" during his school days.

  14. Postpublished at 12:54 British Summer Time 29 August

    Lancashire v Hampshire 71-1

England left-arm spinner Tom Hartley is in his second over, but Nick Gubbins is not happy to just defend.

Excellent use of the feet as he dances down the crease and strikes a fine one-bounce four.

    Gubbins moves to 35.

  15. 50 runs

partnership between D'Oliveira and Brookespublished at 12:53 British Summer Time 29 August

    Essex v Worcs 94-5

    Is this classic Kookaburra action?

With the new cherry, there is plenty of danger for the batters, but as it ages, there is less to worry about.

Regardless, it has also been high-quality stuff from Brett D'Oliveira and Ethan Brookes - who have now put on 50.

  16. wicket

WICKET: Lyth lbw b Hollman 61published at 12:48 British Summer Time 29 August

    Yorks 105-2 v Middx

Luke Hollman has looked Middlesex's most dangerous bowler this morning and the leg-spinner gains some reward by picking up the key wicket of Adam Lyth.

Lyth is pinned leg before by a ball that comes back into him and the umpire's finger is raised.

Will that wicket slow down the Yorkshire run machine?

  17. 50 runs

50 partnershippublished at 12:46 British Summer Time 29 August

    Notts v Surrey 79-1

Farhan Ahmed gives it a bit of air and Rory Burns goes for a hoick through the legside.

It's airborne, but safe and it races through for four.

Burns has 45 and he and Ryan Patel have put on 53 for this second wicket.

  18. wicket

WICKET Finch c Burgess b Booth 3published at 12:45 British Summer Time 29 August

    Warks v Kent 104-5

    Kent are wobbling again.

Michael Booth just gets enough movement off the straight tickle Harry Finch's bat and it is another catch for Michael Booth with the gloves.

Two wickets in three balls is undoing much of Ben Compton's hard graft (he's on 41).

  19. 50 runs

50 partnershippublished at 12:42 British Summer Time 29 August

    Lancashire v Hampshire 57-1

Fletcha Middleton tucks one into the legside and scampers through for a single.

That brings up the 50 partnership between him and Nick Gubbins.

As BBC Radio Solent's Kevan James has said, it has been hard work for Hampshire but crucially, they are only one down.

  20. wicket

WICKET Evison c Burgess b Barnard 28published at 12:41 British Summer Time 29 August

    Warks v Kent 101-4

Ed Barnard has been challenging just outside off stump for a while.

He had an edge just drop short of second slip earlier in the over, but Joey Evison isn't lucky a second time.

It is a feather of an edge through to wicketkeeper Michael Burgess.
