  1. 'Saints smelling blood'published at 13:11 British Summer Time 4 May 2024

    Leeds 1-2 Southampton

    Ian Woodcock
    BBC Sport at Elland Road

That Saints goal is the cue for a lot of home fans to go and get some half-time refreshments early.

The away side, here on the back of three straight defeats smell blood and are looking to put their foot down now.

  2. goal

GOAL: Plymouth 1-0 Hull Citypublished at 13:11 British Summer Time 4 May 2024

    Joe Edwards (40 mins)

Huge goal.... the captain heads Argyle into a precious lead.

Callum Wright has only been on a few minutes, this might be his first touch, but he's curled an inviting cross in from the left and Joe Edwards has shown complete focus and desire to run, leap and power a header down and into the opposite corner to spark wild scenes at Home Park.

    Ryan Allsop had no chance.

Plymouth now have a three-point buffer between themselves and Birmingham as it stands and a much better goal difference.

    Championship bottom 10
  3. goal

GOAL: Sunderland 0-2 Sheff Wedpublished at 13:10 British Summer Time 4 May 2024

    Josh Windass (38 mins)

It's two... Pol Valentin bursts into the area down the right and cuts the ball into the middle where Josh Windass slams home past Nathan Bishop to double the lead.

Sunderland came within inches of an equaliser but it's the visitors who have taken complete control now.

  4. HITS THE WOODWORKpublished at 13:10 British Summer Time 4 May 2024

    Sunderland 0-1 Sheff Wed

Sunderland have only scored once in their last five games and have limped to the end of the season but 15-goal top-scorer Jack Clarke almost had them back on terms, thudding the frame of the goal with James Beadle beaten.

  5. CLOSE!published at 13:08 British Summer Time 4 May 2024

    Birmingham 0-0 Norwich

A great chance goes begging for the hosts as Jay Stansfield squares the ball across the area for Seung-ho Paik but the South Korean can only scuff his shot from near the penalty spot well wide.

Norwich then go straight up the other end and John Ruddy needs to get down at his near post to stop a Marcelino Nunez strike destined for the bottom corner.

  6. As it stands at the bottom...published at 13:07 British Summer Time 4 May 2024

Birmingham 0-0 Norwich; Plymouth 0-0 Hull

    Birmingham need a goal.

    Championship bottom 10
  7. goal

GOAL: Leeds 1-2 Southamptonpublished at 13:07 British Summer Time 4 May 2024

    Will Smallbone (35 mins)

Southampton are ahead again, and I'm hearing they are singing "Leeds are falling apart" at Portman Road.

There was some grim defending to blame for this one, no doubt.

Will Smallbone is the one to restore Saints' lead, but it came from a great chase from Kyle Walker-Peters, who then slips by Junior Firpo to tee up the finish.

As it stands Leeds will be joining Saints in the play-offs.

  8. goal

GOAL: Coventry 0-1 QPRpublished at 13:06 British Summer Time 4 May 2024

    Ilias Chair (33 mins)

    What a beauty!

The talented Ilias Chair curls one in from outside the box leaving the Coventry goalkeeper rooted to the spot.

That's seven for the season for him.

QPR are finishing the season in style but it's rather petering out for the Sky Blues as it stands.

  9. As it stands at the top...published at 13:05 British Summer Time 4 May 2024

Looking VERY good for Ipswich right now...

Keeper Michael Cooper to the rescue for Argyle as he gets down to hold a strike from Liam Delap after a mazy run in from the left flank.

  11. Postpublished at 13:04 British Summer Time 4 May 2024

    Leeds 1-1 Southampton

This game is hectic and Leeds are living dangerously.

A scramble from a corner sees an effort cleared off the line. Who it was that came up with the heroics, I'm not sure. It is a mashup of limbs in there.

  12. 'Go for the jugular'published at 13:03 British Summer Time 4 May 2024

    Sunderland 0-1 Sheff Weds

    Mark Smith
Former Owls defender on BBC Radio Sheffield

You look at that and that's where you want Barry Bannan. To do things like that.

I don't think Sunderland will put up much of a fight now. You're in front - go for the jugular, try to kill it off.

  13. goal

GOAL: Sunderland 0-1 Sheff Wedpublished at 13:01 British Summer Time 4 May 2024

    Liam Palmer (29 mins)

Wednesday are ahead... a draw would have been enough, but three points won't hurt either.

Barry Bannan threads the ball into the box and Liam Palmer allows the ball to run across his body before firing in an angled shot from the right which beats Nathan Bishop to start the celebrations.

  14. Postpublished at 13:00 British Summer Time 4 May 2024

    Birmingham 0-0 Norwich

Play is back under way after that stoppage because of a medical issue in the crowd at St Andrew's.

Our thoughts are with those affected.

  15. 'Burns deserved it'published at 13:00 British Summer Time 4 May 2024

    Ipswich 1-0 Huddersfield

    Mick Mills
Former Ipswich and England captain on BBC Radio Suffolk

It was a wonderful goal. The ball goes to him, you're thinking get it out of your feet and drive it home.

Brilliant, absolutely brilliant. He deserved it.

  16. goal

    Wes Burns (27 mins)

Wes Burns has Portman Road going wild!

He has the Tractor Boys ploughing their way towards the Premier League with this opening goal.

Conor Chaplin has been in the middle of everything so far and he links up with Burns, who beats the goalkeeper with a drilled low shot.

Ipswich only need a point to go up remember.

Hosts have the ball in the net through Luke O'Nien but the offside flag is up.

  18. goal

GOAL: Middlesbrough 1-0 Watfordpublished at 12:59 British Summer Time 4 May 2024

    Emmanuel Latte Lath (28 mins)

    He just keeps on scoring!

Emmanuel Latte Lath is bang in form and he's just put Middlesbrough ahead with his ninth goal in his last eight games.

It's 18 for the season for the striker now, with 16 of them in the Championship.

He won't want the season to end!

  19. Postpublished at 12:58 British Summer Time 4 May 2024

    Ipswich 0-0 Huddersfield

It's been 25 minutes of nearly moments for Ipswich Town.

A header back across goal by Wes Burns finds Conor Chaplin, who nods over.

There is no doubt what is going on at Elland Road has filtered back to Portman Road, so the nerves are jangling.

  20. goal

GOAL - Rotherham 1-0 Cardiffpublished at 12:58 British Summer Time 4 May 2024

    Jordan Hugill (25 mins)

    Beware the jilted ex.

Rotherham lead through a tap-in from former Cardiff striker Jordan Hugill.

A fifth win of the season is on for the relegated Millers!
