  1. Surrey declarepublished at 16:23 21 April

    Kent 244 & 0-0 v Surrey 534-7 dec

Unsurprisingly, Rory Burns has declared at tea.

It means Kent start their second innings 299 behind.

A chance for England's Zak Crawley to make some runs. Or is it?

No Ben Compton because of injury, so Harry Finch is at the other end.

  2. WICKET O Price b Seales 0published at 16:15 21 April

    Sussex 479 v Gloucs 417 & 17-2

File that one under 'a significant error of judgment'.

Ollie Price offers no shot to a ball from Jayden Seales and sees his off stump cartwheel back towards short fine leg.

  3. Tea at Northamptonpublished at 16:09 21 April

    Northants 605-6 dec v Glamorgan 271 & 22-0

A tough afternoon for Glamorgan at Wantage Road but their openers survive seven overs before tea and reduce the deficit to 312.

Northants declared following a fabulous partnership of 212 between Karun Nair and Saif Zaib, who made 202 not out and 100 respectively.

The pitch looks far less helpful than it was on the first day, so Northants may still have a lot of hard graft ahead if they are to secure their first win of the season.

  4. Tea at Derbypublished at 16:08 21 April

    Derbyshire 167 & 92-4 v Leicestershire 574-7 dec

Derbyshire have been unable to build on a solid start to their second innings as their batters find increasingly bizarre ways to get themselves out.

David Lloyd's dismissal, in particular, will be popping up on social media feeds in due course you would imagine.

Scott Currie the pick of the Leicestershire bowlers with 3-16 from six overs in a match which looks to be headed in one direction.

  5. Tea at Lord'spublished at 16:06 21 April

    Middx 246 & 131-3 v Yorks 159 & 244

Time for what will surely be the final break of the game with Middlesex just 27 runs away from completing what will be their first victory of the season.

Yorkshire were still in the game at 77-3 but Leus du Plooy (41 not out) and Ryan Higgins (25) have shared an unbroken stand of 54 the calm anyone of a nervous disposition among the Lord's membership.

  6. Tea at Southamptonpublished at 16:04 21 April

    Hampshire 323-7 v Warwickshire 455

Warwickshire's bowlers have wrestled the initiative in this one on a pitch which is actually quite proving tricky to bat on as the game wears on.

Hampshire trail by 132 runs. Is there enough time left for the Bears to force a result?

  7. Tea at Canterburypublished at 16:04 21 April

    Kent 244 v Surrey 543-7

Cameron Steel unfurls a reverse sweep and finds the boundary off Jack Leaning as he moves on to 43 not out.

A couple of singles follow and Surrey reach tea with a lead of 299.

They added 108 for the loss of five wickets during the afternoon, including Dom Sibley for 150 and Dan Lawrence 112.

Matty Parkinson has five wickets for Kent, but they have cost him 177 runs.

  8. Latest from Hovepublished at 16:01 21 April

    Sussex 479 v Glos 417 & 12-1

Gloucestershire have lost an early wicket at the start of their second innings with Ben Charlesworth caught in the gully by Jack Carson off Jayden Seales.

Ollie Price has come out to join Cameron Bancroft.

  9. Postpublished at 15:59 21 April

    Middx 128-3 - target 158

Superb timing by Leus du Plooy brings him four to square leg and raises a 50 partnership with Ryan Higgins.

Yorkshire have a good fight of this, but Middlesex appear to have this one in the bag now.

  10. WICKET Guest lbw b Trevaskis 5published at 15:59 21 April

    Derbyshire 167 & 90-4 v Leicestershire 574-7 dec

Brooke Guest is on his way back to the pavilion just before the tea interval.

The Derbyshire batter played down the wrong line to final ball of Liam Trevaskis' first over and the spinner's appeal is upheld.

Can Leicestershire wrap this one up today?

  11. Five wickets for Matty Parkinsonpublished at 15:56 21 April

    Kent 244 v Surrey 536-7

That isn't quite so well struck by Jordan Clark, but it brings him another maximum off Matty Parkinson.

Emboldened he walks right across his stumps and pulls, but this time the catch is taken by Joe Denly and the Surrey all-rounder goes for 40 off just 25 balls.

Parkinson's figures are now 5-177 off 35.5 overs.

  12. Tea at Kidderminsterpublished at 15:55 21 April

    Worcs 184 & 201-6 v Durham 244 & 397-5 dec

A little bit of comedy fielding takes us into tea at Chester Road with Worcestershire passing 200 in their second innings.

Callum Parkinson goes big with an appeal against Nathan Smith, the umpire is unmoved and all the while the ball is running away to the boundary.

A fielder eventually gets to it, throws it back towards the stumps - but no one is there to take it so the Pears men just keep running and get four leg byes!

Worcs trail by 257 with a minimum of 32 overs remaining.

  13. WICKET Dawson c Davies b Yates 23published at 15:55 21 April

    Hampshire 315-7 v Warwickshire 455

Rob Yates' off spin brings him a second wicket as Liam Dawson flicks one round the corner straight into the hands of Warwickshire skipper Alex Davies at leg slip.

That's the sixth Hampshire wicket to fall in the afternoon session.

  14. Postpublished at 15:54 21 April

    Middx 123-3 - target 158

Ryan Higgins pulls Jordan Thompson for four, but the Yorkshire all-rounder is unlucky two balls later as he finds the edge of Leus du Plooy's bat but it flies between slip and gully to the boundary.

Just 35 more needed by Middlesex.

  15. Postpublished at 15:50 21 April

    Kent 244 v Surrey 518-6

What did we tell you (see 15:36 entry)?

Jordan Clark belts two successive Matty Parkinson deliveries over mid-wicket for six.

He moves to 28 not out and Cameron Steel has 31 - the lead is 274.

  16. Tea at Tauntonpublished at 15:49 21 April

    Somerset 454 v Notts 193 & 281-2

The day continues to go very nicely indeed for Notts who have wiped out the deficit to lead by 20 runs at tea.

Not many people would have seen that coming this morning, but Joe Clarke's excellent unbeaten 140 in partnership with Will Young, 89 not out, has frustrated the home side.

Somerset have only taken one wicket all day but will at least have the new ball after the interval to try to take some Notts wickets in the evening session.

  17. Postpublished at 15:48 21 April

    Middx 111-3 - target 158

Jordan Thompson has two men out on the leg side but Leus du Plooy is undaunted and pulls the ball between them to collect four runs.

He is 30 not out and Ryan Higgins has 16. Yorkshire need a couple of quick wickets.

  18. Sixpublished at 15:46 21 April

    Kent 244 v Surrey 501-6

Arafat Bhuiyan starts a new over and his second ball is hammered into the car park at the Nackington Road End by Jordan Clark.

Clark can be a very dangerous customer in this sort of situation and thick inside edge for four takes the Surrey total past 500.

  19. Tea at Hovepublished at 15:43 21 April

    Sussex 479 v Gloucestershire 417

Sussex lose their last two wickets in successive overs and that is tea at Hove.

Danny Lamb attempts an ambitious ramp shot off Zaman Akhter and has two of his stumps knocked out of the ground as he goes for 83.

The innings comes to an end when Dom Goodman digs one in at Jayden Seales and the West Indian tail-ender is taken at slip by Cameron Bancroft.

Gloucestershire will start their second innings with a deficit of 62.

  20. Postpublished at 15:39 21 April

    Middx 104-3 - target 158

After 44 overs of seam, Yorkshire decide it is time for the left-arm spin of Dan Moriarty.

His opening set of six only costs three runs - Middlesex need 53 more.
