Fantastic racing from the two McLarens throughout, this must surely be the most excitement we have seen at the front for years. Credit to the entire team for letting them play. And it ain’t over yet!

Motivational pep talk for Lando Norris, his engineer keeping his spirits high as we close in on the end of this Austrian Grand Prix. The problem for Norris, however, is a three-way fight between Fernando Alonso, Gabriel Bortoleto and Nico Hulkenberg.

It looks like the front-left upper flap on Lando Norris' wing has a little bit of damage, it's nowhere near as stable as it should be.

I'm guessing that will be from running over kerbs and potentially a little bit of gravel.

  8. 'Opportunity for Ferrari to score reasonable points'published at 15:38 British Summer Time

    Lap 66/70

    Ben Edwards
F1 commentator on BBC Radio 5 Live

It's an opportunity for Ferrari to score reasonable points here, especially with just George Russell behind them in fifth place. Ferrari may well move ahead of Mercedes in this race [in the constructors' championship] which will be a good boost for the team.

They've made quite a few changes to the car for this weeknd and it does seem to be working reasonably well.

It's not up to the pace of the McLarens, they are in a bit of a world of their own at the moment.

It's intense times because you've got that traffic but once you get that clean air you've got to really make the most of it.

It seems to be Oscar Piastri who is doing that slightly better at the moment compared to Lando Norris.

Oscar Piastri is starting to ramp up the pressure on team-mate Lando Norris. The advantage for Norris is down to 1.7 seconds, as the Briton has to navigate traffic in Austria. One car moves out of the way obligingly, but he still has a Haas to clear.

BBC 5 Live's Rosanna Tennant spoke to Kimi Antonelli who retired on lap one: "I didn't brake necessarily too late, when I braked I locked the rears and I lost the car and I lost the rear.

"I had to then avoid [Liam] Lawson and I was just trying to slow down the car because obviously I had a big moment and I then locked up the front-left.

"I tried as much as possible to slow down the car, but unfortunately it was Max [Verstappen] and I hit him, I am sorry towards him and the team as well because it was a mistake."

On the conversation with Max Verstappen: "I apologised straight away, that's for sure.
