Team radio call to Lando Norris: "Oscar Piastri's pace hasn't really picked up." With that in mond, looks like the Australian is going to make his first stop of this race...
Lap 23/70
Lando Norris is fourth and his first target on his charge back up to the front is Lewis Hamilton in third.
Lap 22/70
Oscar Piastri now leads, consistently banking fastest laps, from Charles Leclerc. The Australian might have a bit of a flat spot, though, on his 22-lap old medium tyres.

Lando Norris is being told to make the pit stop. In a way it's an advantage to have the first of the stops because you then get fresh tyres and you're able to do a couple of quick laps, this will be interesting.
Lap 21/70
As the lead car, Lando Norris changes his tyres to go for some hard running and comes out in fourth place. That was a bit of a low stop, however, as one wheel wouldn't play ball.
Lap 20/70
That was close! Oscar Piastri goes for a move at Turn Four, Lando Norris says no, but they almost make contact. Piastri locks up and loses a bit of ground, and now Norris comes into the pits.

Oscar Piastri is in quite a nice position in terms of he's got no trouble from behind whatsoever, he can just full focus on attacking his team-mate.

Fantastic racing from the two McLarens, this must surely be the most excitement we have seen at the front for years. Credit to the entire team.
Chiz, Nottingham.
Lap 19/70
George Russell heads into the pits to make a switch onto fresh mediums and an undercut on the Ferrari of Lewis Hamilton and Charles Leclerc. The Mercedes man is back out in P11.
Engineer: "We need LI-CO all corners, Charles, Every lap."
Leclerc: "That's what I'm doing Bryan. That is what I am doing, so..."

This is great racing, just absolutely fabulous. Both of the McLarens are pushing so hard at this stage, Oscar Piastri feels he's got the speed to get in front and pull away, but Lando Norris is not going to let that happen.
Lap 17/80
Tactics for the apex of Turn Six is being provided by Lando Norris' engineer. The Briton is putting up a great defence against his team-mate Oscar Piastri.
Yuki Tsunoda and Lance Stroll make contact - Tsunoda is now 10th in the points - and that incident has been noted.

Jeremiah Kariuki: Super impressive Bortoleto. Gaining points. Shouldn't be a surprise if he finishes as high as P6.
Lap 16/70
These two are in a class of their own in Spielberg. Behind, Charles Leclerc is running in third but he's being told information by his engineer, and the Monegasque doesn't sound too happy.

It just seems that the McLarens have got the better pace, which is what we expected, especially in the warmer conditions over their rivals.
Lap 15/70
Turn One is completed by the McLarens but Oscar Piastri doesn't try his luck there. Maybe the exit of Turn Three? Nope. Lando Norris is hustling out in front and holds a 0.614s advantage over Piastri as the two complete lap 15.

With Max out and Tsunoda 15th and struggling when was the last time Red Bull scored 0 constructors points in a race?
Paul, Stoke
Matthew Murnaghan: The orange army are in tears now that Verstappen is out.
Lap 14/70
Oscar Piastri is clocking the fastest laps of the race as Alex Albon pits to dump his medium tyres. Lando Norris is looking in his mirrors and every time he does, the Australian is right there.

My goodness, that was some close racing! The battle from the two McLaren team-mates, they made contact last time out in Canada.
