Judy Murray, mother of tennis star Andy Murray: "Both Andy and Jamie would have loved to have been here competing in the Commonwealth Games and representing Scotland. They enjoyed playing tennis at the Olympics, and there is nothing better than representing your country in front of your own home fans.

"As far I know it's up to the host cities whether they include tennis in the Commonwealths and it is based on a number of things - how good the host country are at the sport, whether they have the facilities and whether all the countries vote for it.

"Tennis actually featured in Delhi, although at the time of year it was held it wasn't great with Masters Series events which count towards ranking points. However, at this time of the year it would have been fine to include tennis because there is a bit of a break after Wimbledon."

It seemed at the time that Nick Matthew and James Willstrop's post-match chat was more friendly that the frosty relationship they have endured over the past few years.

This is Matthew's take on it, speaking to BBC Radio 5 live.

"I said to James afterwards that he was a winner just for being here," the winner said.

"He was told that his career might by over just a few weeks ago. For us both just to be here is testament to our professionalism."

England's silver medallist James Willstrop, speaking to BBC Sport after his defeat to compatriot Nick Matthew: "I'm just so thrilled with what I've done this week.

"It's been an odd five weeks before this match. He's had an operation and I'm going to have one.

"What he's done is just amazing, to have that operation and to come out and play. Squash is a game where you need match fitness and he's had none.

"But I'm almost not disappointed because five weeks ago I almost wasn't playing.

"He just beat me squash-wise. I gave everything. I left it out there. My hip was moving in places I wasn't sure it should do a few weeks ago."

"Chris and Emma Tiler look on proudly as their daughter says she is already targeting the Rio Olympics in 2016. By then she hopes to have GCSEs in drama and PE. One thing is for sure, she's done Bingley Grammar School proud. Keighley has a star in the making."

England's singles champion Nick Matthew tells BBC One: "What a battle. I take my hat off to James, what we've both been through the last few weeks, to put on a final like that.

"I was so edgy with my drop-shots throughout the whole game. I felt like I was hitting them with a different racket. He was playing the better squash and I was just digging in.

"My coach told me just to hack it to the back, to resort to old-fashioned caveman squash, and that's what I did.

"Five weeks ago I was on a hospital bed after waking up from the anesthetic with throbbing pain in my body. [Matthew had a knee operation].

"How the medics have done it....they need to retire now because it can't get better than that. I better enjoy this for the next two weeks because my wife is expecting a baby. This is the best moment of my life but I'm sure they'll be an even better moment in a few weeks."
