Scotland gold medallist Sarah Clark tells BBC Radio 4 about her experience: "It was all a bit of a whirlwind. The noise was incredible in the stadium and must have helped. To build on the momentum from the first day was really important, it keeps everyone interested, keeps the crowds coming and keeps the interest in the telly.

"At grass roots there has been a surge of interest in the sport and that has made judo more appealing. Hopefully in 10-15 years we will reap the benefits of that and see more people on the podium in Olympic, Commonwealth, European and World Championships."

England's Megan Fletcher, who won gold in the women's -70kg on Friday, speaking to BBC Breakfast: "When I came here I was so nervous, I felt like I was behind everything all the way through and then I beat the British number one in the semi-final, which was a massive achievement - I've never beaten her before and I was so chuffed to do it here.

"When I pinned my opponent in the final, you don't normally end up that high up - you wouldn't normally you would be be sat on her head, but that is where I ended up. I didn't care where I was because all I had to do was pin her for 25 seconds, that's all I was thinking about."

BBC Sport's Aimee Lewis has been covering Michael Jamieson's personal disappointment, made all the more bitter by the fact that his country have found success in the pool without him.

"When you're teed up to be the man, the fall is even greater than your own personal expectation because you have to deal with other people's expectations as well," Steve Parry, Olympic bronze medallist for Great Britain in the 200m butterfly at Athens 2004, told her.

"In the 100m breaststroke on Friday, Ross Murdoch won the semi-final that Michael Jamieson was in. Jamieson just can't escape him. He has been in the same race as him, heat, final, semi-final, whatever it is, at every turn in these Games.

"The final is tonight but the star has been Adam Peaty. He broke the Games record, fastest qualifier by over half a second, so we have a nice head-to-head between England and Scotland. But you can't rule out the reigning Olympic champion and world record holder, Cameron van der Burgh. He will be a danger."
