Time to get excited. Alicia Blagg and Katherine Torrance are still in first position after the second round of dives. They have a two point lead. There are three more dives with the scores added together after each round.

Aussie favourites Maddison Keeney and Annabelle Smith are having a bit of a shocker. They are down in fifth.

Here are Blagg and Torrance for their third dive....

Hmmmm. A little out with the sychronisation. Only 64.80. That could cost them. Keeney and Smith improve too.

The Swedish-born Australian won three fights in qualifying with a ruptured anterior cruciate ligament, which she has since had replaced with an Achilles taken from a corpse. I kid you not.

The final of the men's 50m pistol has just finished, but there was no place for this 63-year-old grandfather.

The dreadlock-sporting fruit and veg farmer suffered a heart attack while out cycling last summer, and underwent emergency heart surgery.

In an an interview published in South African newspaper The Times,, external Chase said: "I remember praying, but the next thing I knew I was in hospital. They put me on a treadmill and found out I had a blockage in one of the small vessels of the heart -- I'm lucky to be here."

Chase, known as Ras to his friends and team-mates, was given the all-clear by his cardiologist to travel to the Gold Coast, to compete in his fourth Commonwealth Games.

    Women's synchronised 3 springboard final

And the first diving final is just getting under way in the pool. This is the women’s synchronised 3m springboard final. Reigning champion Alicia Blagg of England defends her title with a new partner, Katherine Torrance – who normally competes for Great Britain alongside Scot Grace Reid. Blagg and Torrance only competed together for the first time in January.

They will do well to beat Olympic bronze medallists Maddison Keeney and Annabelle Smith of Australia. The second Australian pairing and Canada’s Jennifer Abel & Melissa Citrini-Beaulieu are also strong.
