A £70m plan to expand Birmingham's Alexander Stadium in time for the 2022 Commonwealth Games has been announced.
The investment will boost the 40-year-old structure's capacity from 12,700 to 40,000 and retain 20,000 seats after the event.
The expansion would see it become the UK's largest permanent athletics stadium outside London.
Australia will hand over the Games to the city on Sunday
Malaysia 1-0 Wales
Into the fourth quarter and Wales still trail in the women's hockey. Wales will finish third in the pool if they win, but bottom if they lose.
Men's 1m springboard
There have been some iffy efforts so far in this diving. I wouldn't want to be sat in the front front row without a waterproof put it that way. Thankfully for Team England none of those have come from defending champion Jack Laugher.
He sits in first place in this qualification round after two dives and then puts in another solid effort with a reverse two-and-a-half somersaults in tuck position on his third, scored at 70.50.
Fellow Englishmen and brothers Jack and Ross Haslam are third and fifth so far and Scotland's James Heatly are also in the qualification places after the first two rounds.
Men's double trap
After 60 targets each, Scotland's David McMath lies in second place in qualifying after hitting 54 of them.
The top six qualify for the final so England's Steven Scott has got plenty of work to do. He lies in 13th.
Men's 50m pistol
England's Kristian Callaghan has booked his place in the men's 50m pistol final. He has qualified in seventh place with the top eight progressing.
India's Om Mitharval leads the way in qualifying and way well be the man to beat in this final.
The battle for gold begins at 03:00 BST.

Ian Cotterill: Well done @EnglandNetball, external . Superb result. Made my wine taste so much sweeter this evening...thank you
Mark Hope: Way to go girls #Netball, external
Rachel Hoggarth: One classy performance by the Roses! Go on girls!
'Now we can do anything' is the message from inside the England huddle as they celebrate that win. NZ captain Katrina Grant leaves the court in tears. She rolled her ankle early on but played through.
England will now face Jamaica or Australia in the semi-finals. New Zealand must wait and see if they will compete for the medals - they should be OK despite that second defeat of the pool stage. Uganda could theoretically knock them out.
Wales 0-1 Malaysia
We're into the third quarter in the hockey and Wales are behind after a field goal from Malaysia just before the break.
As it stands Wales are going to finish bottom of this group.
New Zealand 45-54 England
The first time England have beaten New Zealand at the Commonwealth Games. England are a serious threat for the gold medal...
New Zealand 45-53 England
Into the last 90 seconds, England have surley got this in the bag.

Massive tension down court side.
Can England ride this out?
New Zealand 42-49 England
A slack pass from Chelsea Pitman gifts possession to New Zealand and they whip the ball down court to consolidate the turnover.
The Roses need to be much more careful with their possession but they have opened up a timely seven-goal lead...
New Zealand 40-45 England
Eight minutes left, England in the pressure cooker and their passing has gone sloppy. Can they see this out?
New Zealand 39-45 England
New Zealand are trying everything to get back into this game but England are standing firm.
Defensively they are getting a little more joy and Folau is shooting at will at the other end.
The Roses are certainly feeling the pressure but after a period of momentum from the Kiwis, a timely intercept from Guthrie has helped the Roses wrestle it back.
They're trading errors out there, as the pressure cranks up even further.
New Zealand 38-42 England
New Zealand have trimmed England's lead at the start of the final quarter.

That's a very nice opening dive. Jack will be looking to stamp his authority psychologically on these divers.
Men's 1m springboard
Laugher has some strapping on his left ankle and has had some injury problems in the run-up to this event but he starts really well. His opening dive has a difficulty of 3.0 and he's given a very handy score of 73.50.
Don't forget you can watch here.
Women's double trap (from 01:30 BST)
A new champion is guaranteed in this rarely-staged women’s event as Charlotte Kerwood is not defending the title she has won on all three previous occasions. In her absence, fellow English shooter Rachel Parish may feel it’s her time to shine and complete the Commonwealth Games medal set: she earned silver in 2006 and bronze in 2014 (the event wasn’t held in 2010).
The A&E doctor from Nottingham won the European title in 2016 and earned two notable bronze medals last year, firstly at a Grand Prix event in Moscow which was held alongside the World Championships and then at November’s Commonwealth Championships on the same Brisbane range she returns to now.
