    Athletics: Men's high jump final

It was a hugely disappointing day for Robbie Grabarz, who failed to clear any of his jumps in the high jump, and the 30-year-old, who won an Olympic bronze in 2012, has hinted that he will quit the sport.

He told BBC One: "I'm not enjoying competing at the moment, I can't pinpoint why.

"I opened up well at the beginning of the season, I'm just not enjoying it. I have to find that pleasure or find something else to do. It is not like I'm in bad shape."

“We’re so proud of him, but it was agony to watch,” James Heatly’s parents - Debs and Robert tell me after their son claims Scotland’s first diving medal since his grandfather in 1958.

“It wasn’t always easy for him growing up and knowing the success that his grandfather had, had and people always talking about it because they were different eras of the sport,” they continued.

“His grandfather (Sir Peter Heatly) was able to watch him dive at Glasgow 2014 and I know that meant a lot to the pair of them.

“He would be so proud of James today, as are we and who knows what he could go on to achieve now.”

Henry Frayne, the last man to go in the long jump, has the full backing of the crowd, but the dreaded red flag is shown and he can only foul with his last attempt.

That means Luvo Manyonga of South Africa takes the gold thanks to a best leap of 8.41m, a new Games' record. Australian Frayne's best mark of 8.33m is good enough for silver, with Ruswahl Samaai, another South African, taking the bronze.
