England's Jack Laugher and Scotland's James Healty, gold and bronze medallists respectively in the men's 1m springboard event have been talking to BBC Sport's Nick Hope and both competitors are a bit emotional.

No joy for Richard Kilty of England. He finishes fifth in his heat, and that is him out of the event.

We have just been talking about Robbie Grabarz, exiting the high jump, and this is the slip that cost him a chance of staying in the competition further.

We've just had the women's 200m semi-finals with England's Dina Asher-Smith and Bianca Williams moving into the final.

Next up it is the men's turn. Richard Kilty of England goes in the first semi-final, before Zharnel Hughes in the second semi and Northern Ireland's Leon Reid in semi-final three.

Top two in each heat, plus two fastest losers will advance.

It was a gold medal in Glasgow four years ago in the 1m springboard title for Jack Laugher, and the Englishman has done it again.

England's Robbie Grabarz is making his Commonwealth Games debut at the opposite end of the age spectrum to most athletes.

The 30-year-old is going to have to mature like fine wine if he wants to take a Friendly Games medal into his retirement though.

The London 2012 bronze medallist has flunked his three attempts at 2.21m and is out of the competition.

Scotland's David Smith is also a goner, but his team-mate Allan Smith is one of only four men to make it over 2.24m and is right in contention.

They lead 9-5, though Scotland are still very much in the match.

Dina Asher-Smith's in there. You can't count out Elaine Thompson - she's the Olympic champion at this distance. Shericka Jackson came to run and she's going to be a force to be reckoned with in that final. This race is full of favourites.

Finette Agyapong tells BBC One: "I'm a little bit diasappointed but that is how it goes.

"But I'm enjoiyng the experience and hopefully it will be the first of many."

In the third and final semi-final, England's Finette Agyapong finishes third, missing out on an automatic place in the final as only the top are guaranteed a final place.

But Agyapong is not one of the fastest two losers and is not in the final, but it is good news for her England team-mate Bianca Williams, who scrapes into the women's 200m final tomorrow.

Behind champion Jack Laugher of England and Scotland's bronze-medal winner James Heatly, Jamaica’s Yona Knight-Wisdom - born in Leeds - finishes fourth.

English brothers Ross and Jack Haslam come in seventh and 10th respectively, with Scotland's Lucas Thomson 12th.
