The third rotation in the team rhythmic gymnastics final (the clubs) sees England (in fifth) and Wales (in sixth) slip further away from the medal places, mathematically.

They'll need a huge effort in the fourth and final rotation (the ribbon) if they're to cause an upset.

    Diving: Men's 1m springboard final

James Heatly has made round four his own with a remarkable dive to score 74.25 - he had Leon Taylor tipping his hat to him in the commentary box.

He goes into third behind Jack Laugher and Ross Haslam in first and second respectively. A British one-two-three. This is getting tasty.

That might actually be the first ever medal for Jamacia in the steeplechase. It's an outstanding performance and she can barely believe it.

Every little stutter Chespol did into the barriers gave her confidence, you could almost see the smile on her face when she went past her.

Celliphine Chespol of Kenya looked to have the gold medal in the bag. She was well clear, but she has gone too early.

As she is flagging on the last lap, she is caught and overtaken by Aisha Praught and Chespol has nothing left in the tank.

Gold for Praught and Chespol has to settle for silver. Kenyan Purity Kirui, a winner four years ago, takes bronze and England's Rosie Clarke finishes fourth.

It will be Wales v England for gold in the women’s 64-69kg category on 14 April as Sandy Ryan does the business, using her longer reach to take a split decision against her Canadian opponent.

Rosie Eccles is waiting in the final and that should be a right tear up.

“I beat her in 2015,” Ryan tells us. “I’m absolutely buzzing. I’ll have a late night tonight as the adrenaline is going.”

The Jamaican team officials here at the Aquatics Centre looked a little nervous ahead of the men’s 1m final tonight as they know their man Yona Knight-Wisdom has the chance of making history.

He could be the nation’s first-ever diving medallist, but the Leeds born-and-raised athlete is in seventh place at the halfway stage.

That said, the scores are such that with a couple of strong routines the 22-year-old could climb rapidly, so don’t rule him out just yet.
