Meet Jake Rapira, the New Zealand coach and cut man. You may be able to pick up on his red and blue beard, a nod to the two ring corners in boxing.

Rapira was challenged to shave his beard off if the team won five medals. He claims he never agreed to it but as the number drew close, he said he would dye it as a compromise. Blue and red it is then.

On a more serious note, he’s absolutely beaming. He explains to me that his fighters don’t get any funding anymore. It’s all achieved through sponsors and fundraising. Coaches like him have to pay to attend events too.

Huge respect. There wouldn’t be the big names in boxing if people like Jake weren’t bringing them through.

    Road cycling

We are entering the business end of the men's road race and James McLaughlin of Guernsey and Tom Stewart of England are continuing to set the pace.

Rwanda's Joseph Areruya, who had been out front with them, has dropped back.

They are about a minute clear of the chasing peloton, which is being pulled along by a couple of Australia riders. Luke Rowe of Wales is also in contention.

Dani Rowe, his sister-in-law, won bronze for Wales in the women's road race a little earlier.

    England 30-33 Jamaica

Another change at half-time for England as Eboni Beckford-Chambers comes on at goal defence for a third combination of the day.

And it seems to have worked! Geva Mentor gets a vital intercept to deny Jhaniele Fowler-Reid as England score the first three goals of the half.

Well, the first half of the match has zipped by in Coomera but England have it all to do if they are to make their first ever Commonwealth Games final.

Jamaica haven’t made many mistakes and captain Jhaniele Fowler-Reid has been virtually unstoppable when it comes to goals.

I’m not sure how many Jamaica fans are here but the neutrals are definitely cheering for them.

There are pockets of England fans and they did join in when a lone singer started yelling “Let’s go England, let’s go”.

    Let’s go!

    HT: England 27- 33 Jamaica

    Sara Bayman
Former England captain on BBC Sport

England have allowed Jamaica to settle into this game and they are shooting incredibly well at 97%.

I'll be surprised if the seven that came off at half time, is the same seven that comes back out for the second half.

Worse-case scenario has happened, so England have to relax and play their game.

England trailing at half-timepublished at 06:40 British Summer Time 14 April 2018

    HT: England 27-33 Jamaica

England have a HUGE second half if they're going to turn this one around and make their first Commonwealth Games final.

They've looked panic-stricken in attack and disjointed in defence.

The Sunshine Girls - led by captain Jhaniele Fowler-Reid at one end and Shamera Sterling at the other - have a six goal advantage at the break, and it could have been more.

They're shooting at 97% compared to just 84% from England. What will Tracey Neville have to say in that changing room?

Bronze Medal - Laura Weightman (England)published at 06:37 British Summer Time 14 April 2018

    Women's 5,000m final

Longer distance? No problem! Laura Weightman, England's 1500m specialist, captures a brilliant bronze in the 5,000m.

Weightman's coach Steve Cram, sat in the commentator's seat for BBC TV, beams with pride as he lets colleague Paula Radcliffe eulogise about her performance.

Kenya's world champion Hellen Obiri kicks in to ease to the gold medal, winning in 15:13.11 ahead of team-mate Margaret Kipkemboi (15:15.28).

England are the better side on paper, and they're unbeaten in this tournament so far... but have their heads gone?

Jamaica look like they have rhythm and England need to break it somehow.

These player changes are about putting more defensive pressure on Jamaica
