Neville rings the changespublished at 06:30 British Summer Time 14 April 2018

    England 20-25 Jamaica

Tracey Neville has gone for it.

Off goes goal shooter Jo Harten, Helen Housby moves back and Natalie Haythornthwaite is on at goal-attack.

Harten, usually so reliable, just hasn't found her rhythm in attack and Jamaica are running away with this.

And here comes another change. Jade Clarke on at centre, Serena Guthrie moves back to wing defence and Beth Codben goes to the bench.

England need to change this, and FAST.

    Women's 5000m final

It probably won't surprise you to learn that the Kenyan athletes is leading the pace. Margaret Chelimo Kipkemboi is out in front at the halfway stage, team-mate Hellen Obiri - the world champion and overwhelming favourite - is cruising just behind her.

Not much movement in the field so far to be honest. Laura Weightman, Steph Twell and Eilish McColgan are still in the mixer.

We thought it would be tight and so it has proved so far.

I don’t know if there are loads of Jamaica fans here or if it’s the neutrals backing them but they are definitely getting the louder cheers.

There was a lone England voice shouting “let’s go England, let’s go” which a section of the crowd joined in with.

    Mixed doubles semi-finals

The Adcocks have taken the advantage in their semi-final against Chan/Goh with a 21-19 win in the opening game, but it was by no means easy for the English duo. A nervy start but let's hope the advantage settles them on court.

Over in the other mixed doubles semi-final, Marcus Ellis and Lauren Smith lost the first game 22-20 despite leading throughout.

    Women's 5,000m final

Plenty of home interest in the next race on the track - the women's 5,000m.

England's Laura Weightman earned silver over 1500m in 2014 and makes her major competition debut in the longer distance.

Scottish pair Eilish McColgan and Steph Twell, Northern Ireland’s Emma Mitchell, Melissa Courtney of Wales and Guernsey’s Sarah Mercier also compete.

However, world champion Hellen Obiri of Kenya starts as the red-hot favourite.

Away they go! Twelve and a half laps of the Carrara Stadium in case you're wondering.

    Q1: England 15-15 Jamaica

    Sara Bayman
Former England captain on BBC Sport

England need a bit more turnover in the centre of the court.

They did that in the early minutes but they're not doing it right now.

Tracey Neville may want to make a change and bring Eboni Beckford-Chambers on for captain Ama Agbeze.

    Q1: England 15-15 Jamaica

Jamaica's mid-court are really disrupting things in England's attacking end and they've picked up at least two turnovers on the circle edge.

Shamera Sterling is doing a cracking job on England goal-shooter Jo Harten and the two teams go in level at the break.

The Sunshine Girls will be the happier side - although they're frustrated with some of the umpiring. They wanted time stopped there as the ball went loose, but they were denied a chance to take a one-goal lead.

Quarter of an hour apart, but a very similar scenes as first the men's quartet slap hands along the front row and then their women's counterparts fly the flag along the same stretch of track.

They are England's fourth and fifth golds of an ultimately underwhelming athletics campaign at the Games.

    Women's high jump

England haven't had a female Commonwealth champion in the high jump since 1974. Is that going to change this year?

Morgan Lake, a heptathlete by trade who is concentrating solely on the high jump for the second successive season, goes over 1.84m with ease.

Team-mate Bethan Partridge manages to do the same, as does Scotland's Nikki Manson. So far so good for the British trio.

Six laps down, three to go.

And our leading trio's advantage has been cut to 12 seconds by the six chasers. Guernsey's James McLaughlin, England's Tom Stewart and Joseph Areyura of Rwanda are being reeled in.

The peloton, which was almost four minutes back last time round, has taken almost three minutes out of the leaders on that 18.7km lap and is only 56 seconds adrift.

This race is far from over with around 50km remaining.

A brilliant performance by them all. That was a shrewd run by the England team. Dina Asher Smith ran a storming back straight - it was tremendous by her. England did well to hang on in there and it was a deserved victory. There was enough experience on the baton exchanges - it doesn't matter how fast you run sometimes, it's about the baton.

England need to get out hard and try to build a lead.

They will be very keen to get a good start. Jamaica have won three of the last five games between these two.

England need to focus and stay connected, play the opposition and not the occasion.

The Jamaicans are relaxed and composed where England are intense and full of fire.
