Scotland had a 14-5 lead over Wales at half-time in the men's rugby sevens. The winners of this one progress to the 5th-6th play-off later today.

But that's great leap from the kick-off and Wales winger Luke Morgan beats the man on the outside to dot down.

Wales back in this. And you can watch it here.

We have just seen some more pictures of the scene at the 40km mark where Scotland's Callum Hawkins collapsed. There are several members of the emergency services there, helping Hawkins into the back of an ambulance. We're hearing from our BBC TV colleagues that he is conscious. We will bring you more details as soon as we hear them.

    Men's marathon

Scotland have won a medal - although it is not Callum Hawkins as we thought it would be after those distressing scenes a short while ago.

His team-mate Robbie Simpson comes home in third place in a time of 2:19:36, just ahead of Northern Ireland's Kevin Seaward in fourth.

    Scotland 60-73 New Zealand

New Zealand are pulling away now in the basketball.

Scotland fell to a huge 103-46 semi-final defeat by Australia and this is a far better showing in the bronze-medal match, but they need quick baskets.

Head coach Rob Beveridge tries to fire them up in a time-out and Fraser Malcolm comes up with a vital three points!

Could this still happen for the Scots?

  10. gold-medal

Gold Medal - Mike Shelley (Australia)published at 01:33 British Summer Time 15 April 2018

    Men's marathon

Mike Shelley heads into the straight, boosted by hundreds of flag-waving compatriots cheering him home. One gives him the Aussie flag to carry with him over the line, where is met by team-mates Jess Trengove and Lisa Weightman who have just won medals in the women's race.

    That's back-to-back Commonwealth titles for the 34-year-old.

Australia's Mike Shelley, the man behind Callum Hawkins, runs past the Scot as he lays out on the road. A few people have arrived to assist Hawkins but it doesn't look like they are doing too much. All very concerning.

Shelley looks like he's struggling too as he heads towards the finish line. The heat is incredible.

He's hit his head on the barrier. I'm sorry if you're watching this at home, it's really distressing. He's going to hurt himself and there's nobody anywhere near.

We should have some more medical attention. This is a guy in real distress and someone needs to recognise it for his health at this point.

Where on earth is the help? You cannot just wait at the finish line. They've got radios.

And finally somebody arrives. I think it's disgraceful.

Callum Hawkins bravely carries on, but he really shouldn't. The Scot exhausted and delirious. He's out on his feet.

He gets to the 40km mark and then crashes against the barrier, he might have hit his head. Now he's on the floor, but no-one is helping him. Where's the medical assistance?

    Men's marathon

    Steve Cram
    Commentator on the Gold Coast

I'm just concerned for his welfare. Of course it's brave and we would love to to see him get through his but when you see someone in this state it's not easy to keep going.

He's got a mile and a half of running still and yes you can maybe manage it but Shelley will come round the corner and sense what's happening.

You have to admire this but on the other hand you have to be really concerned.

Oh dear... Callum Hawkins is in trouble. The Scot veers towards the curb, his legs have gone. He's at out in front but that doesn't matter. His health is the priority here. Hawkins has collapsed on the road, then manages to get to his feet and carry on. This isn't pleasant to watch.

It's trunks and bikini weather in Gold Coast. A few swimmers have wandered up from the beach to take a look at what's going on.

Lesotho's Tsepo Mathibelle has pulled up - he's had enough. I wouldn't want to be running 26.2 miles in any weather, never mind this heat.

  17. Scotland losing in bronze medal matchpublished at 01:17 British Summer Time 15 April 2018

A good finish to the quarter for Scotland as Kieron Achara nails a two-pointer on the buzzer, but New Zealand have a game-high 15-point lead going into the final period.

Scotland are only shooting at 31% from the field and the bronze medal looks to be going to the Tall Blacks.

Power couple Gabby and Chris Adcock have done it, they've successfully defended their mixed doubles title against fellow English pair Marcus Ellis and Lauren Smith in what was a very entertaining final.

It finished 19-21 21-17 21-16 on the Gold Coast.

Ellis and Smith both feature in respective men's and women's doubles finals later on, where they'll look to upgrade on their new silver medals.
