"Buttler was trying to give himself a bit of room to leg so the bowler bowled him an off cutter wide of off stump. He finished up having to reach for it and didn't get as much power behind it as he wanted."
Morgan hammers Wardlaw's first ball straight down the ground for six (with a red t-shirted man just failing to grasp it one-handed beyond the ropes) and then smashes the next ball for four. Buttler is handed strike but is caught out at long-off attempting a big hit down the ground. It is a shame to see him go, but he has done a job with 24 from 14 balls.

"These are England's best two players at this stage of the game. They have got licence but they have good wrist actions, invention, they're thinking about things to do."
More fireworks from Buttler, who gets his reverse sweep out to claim another boundary as part of a Davey over that goes for 10. It begs the question as to why Buttler wasn't sent in earlier?
Scott Lennon:, external That's what Buttler is capable of. Having him only batting five overs is a pathetic bit of game management.
Sam Wilson:, external As much as I like Bell, he's a test batsman, period. Wastes too many overs in ODI format. We need explosive players at the top.
Will McKay:, external Buttler showing how foolish it was not to promote him up the order... not got enough time to do real damage now.
Buttler makes Wardlaw regret his drop by scampering two before smashing a drive through extra cover for four. England edging towards a triple-century.
How vital will this be? Buttler slaps one back towards Wardlaw but the bowler fails to hold on and England's key man survives.

The England bench looking happier than it did half an hour so ago. Still, you think that England should be in a much stronger position given the start they had.
Sam Wilson:, external Boycott spot on about Hales. He should be opening to give England a platform with Ali, move Bell to three and drop Ballance.
Aylet H Lushkov:, external At a minority, but England don't nurdle enough. Look at how India go between the wickets. Play to your strengths.
Amrit Bola:, external What does Balance bring other than a boring 10 runs innings? At least Hales is interesting to watch and hits boundaries!
Wides have been a problem for Scotland (13 now this innings) and they gift England a couple more at the start of the 46th over, with Berrington losing his radar. Buttler then takes over with an inventive scoop over the keeper for four before swinging away for two from the last ball. The Lancashire man is the key to a 300 total here.
Buttler does indeed do his stuff first ball with a whip through leg for four. We've got five overs left and England need 44 more to reach 300.

"That was good bowling, the bowler saw Taylor coming down the wicket, shoved it wide with a yorker and it was clever cricket by the bowler and wicketkeeper. You can't blame the batsmen for going on the attack at this stage."
Morgan smashes a four to cow corner, but two balls later Taylor goes as he dances down and is undone by a wide ball from Davey, which Cross gathers and whips off the bails before the England batsman can get back. Jos Buttler time. Can the big-hitter do his stuff and salvage a good score for his team?
Rightly, the review is given not out. Game on.
Scotland call for DRS as Taylor drops low to try and whip a Davey ball to square leg. Replays show that the ball hit Taylor on the glove. So what is this? Arm before wicket?
Ben Wear:, external I'm going to have to take a long cold shower. Don't think I've ever been this angry about a sporting performance. Seething.
Jon Evans:, external With the standard of our bowling recently we are going to be short of runs here unless we speed up. A bit worrying really.
John Sawdon:, external This is really pretty pathetic! We should be spanking this dross all over the place! Very poor!
There are no more big hits, but England manage to work Haq's last over around the pitch to plunder another five runs. It is a good finish from Haq to what has been a slow but solid 10 overs.
Sally Smith:, external Hales and Carberry should be playing. Both good attacking players, perfect for ODI's. Carberry should be in the squad.
Will McKay:, external England showing why they're so far away from winning the World Cup, no ruthlessness. Imagine Aussies nudging singles!
Martin Allott:, external Why are we surprised? England are unimaginative, inflexible and generally woeful.

"I think this is perfect for Morgan, with a few overs left, he is a finisher. He has the range of shot to deal with it. I think he's better at six. I'd have Hales opening and Bell at three. If I was Hales I think I'd be wanting my ticket home if I couldn't get in this team."
