"It was good running and this is turning into quite the nail-biter. Pakistan are probably favourites but this is World Cup cricket and anything can happen."

A great over from Pakistan's Sohail Khan as only two runs come off it. The bowler is also able to send down the one bouncer allowed for the over.

But wait, there is nearly a run out off the last ball of the over. Chigumbura gets his bat to it, the ball hardly moves and they go for an incredibly risky single.

But Sohail Khan needed to show his footballing skills as he would have surely run out Panyangara if he had kicked the ball at the stumps. Instead, he opted to pick the ball up and Panyangara just about gets home, by the tightest margin.

  3. Zim 186-8 (target 236)published at 11:05 Greenwich Mean Time 1 March 2015

Another five off the over, as Zimbabwe just about stay within range. 50 needed off 42 balls. Elton Chigumbura on 13 off 15 balls, Tinashe Panyangara four from eight.

  4. Zim 181-8 (target 236)published at 11:01 Greenwich Mean Time 1 March 2015

Chigumbura looks like he can hardly move, but he somehow gets a small top edge on to the ball and sends it over the wicketkeeper for four. He would love to just hit boundaries, but he has to take every run possible.

He then plays a drop-and-run for a single. Well, a drop-and-limp maybe. He grimaces in pain, but he is still there and that is one more run off the total. 55 needed off 48 balls.

Varun Jeyachandran: Serious respect to captain Chigumbura for coming out to bat despite possible quad tear.

  6. Zim 174-8 (target 236)published at 10:57 Greenwich Mean Time 1 March 2015

62 runs needed from 54 balls. Elton Chigumbura scores two and then a single, but his injury looks to be severely affecting his movement and range of shots available.

  7. Zim 171-8 (target 236)published at 10:54 Greenwich Mean Time 1 March 2015

The situation now required is 65 runs off 60 balls. But we are down to two of the Zimbabwe bowlers, plus Elton Chigumbura, who is struggling through injury. It will go down in Zimbabwe cricketing folklore if they do it.

"Zimbabwe probably felt they had done everything right at the halfway stage, but it's getting very interesting now. Pakistan have got their tails up and they think they are home but will it have another twist?"

Zimbabwe need a miracle. Pakistan look to have somehow rescued this one from the fire. Wahab and Akmal combine again for the second time in three balls. Another thick edge is taken by the wicketkeeper. Mupariwa lasted only two balls.

"It was a rising delivery at a good length from Riaz and he couldn't resist the cut. Can Zimbabwe get to this total? They have batted well throughout this tournament but this is a different case tonight.

"As for Misbah, how does he go about instructing his bowlers at the back end of the innings?"

Wahab played a crucial innings early for Pakistan, and has just got a huge wicket for them. Are Zimbabwe heading for heartbreak? Craig Ervine gets a thick edge to Wahab's delivery and Zimbabwe are seven down.

"There was a ball in that over that jammed right into the ribcage of Craig Ervine. It was actually Irfan's slower ball but I think it still had a bit on it.

"Ervine will be feeling that tomorrow. Ouch, that's got to hurt."

  13. Zim 168-6 (target 236)published at 10:46 Greenwich Mean Time 1 March 2015

Zimbabwe need 68 runs, they have 66 balls to get them in. Sean Ervine takes a shot to the ribs, but is OK to continue.

  14. Zim 167-6 (Ervine 13, Chigumbura 0)published at 10:42 Greenwich Mean Time 1 March 2015

Only one off a high-quality over from Rahat Ali. The bowler thinks he has a wicket with Chigumbura caught behind off the last ball of the over, but neither his team-mates, nor the umpire, agrees with him.

  16. Zim 166-6 (target 236)published at 10:39 Greenwich Mean Time 1 March 2015

What a story this is going to be if Zimbabwe win it. The next batsman is Elton Chigumbura, who limped off earlier on after a nasty looking fall sustained when trying to save a boundary as Pakistan batted.

Captain Chigumbura was meant to be in at seven, but comes in at eight. And clearly looks in pain as he is limping after playing his first shot. He is not allowed a runner. Can he be the most unlikely of heroes for Zimbabwe?

Shoaib Malik is going to be happy. As is every Pakistan fan. It is too good from Mohammad Irfan. The ball is back of a length, close to off stump, Solomon Mire can only get the shoulder of his bat on to it and Umar Akmal snuffles the chance.

Solomon Mire sees that there is no one back at square leg, so lofts it high. It is safe, so another two to the total. Two singles follow. Zimbabwe need 72 off 84 balls.
