  1. Zim 160-5 (Ervine 10, Mire 5)published at 10:27 Greenwich Mean Time 1 March 2015

It is another good Zimbabwe over, utilising the space where the slips should be. Nine runs closer to glory for Zimbabwe. Next up is the batting powerplay. At this stage, Pakistan were 136-5.

  2. Zim 151-5 (target 236)published at 10:25 Greenwich Mean Time 1 March 2015

One thing we have not mentioned for a while is the fitness of Zimbabwe captain Elton Chigumbura. Is he able to bat? He limped off earlier and had scans on a feared torn muscle after he slipped trying to save a boundary when Pakistan were batting.

He was meant to be next man in. He isn't. Solomon Mire is the new batsman instead.

"Williams could not get on top of it. It was a great catch by Shahzad, two-handed above his head.

"Williams didn't want to go. He put his bat on the floor and his head between his legs. He couldn't believe it.

"Two new men at the crease, five wickets in the bank - this is going to be a good game of cricket."

Disaster for Zimbabwe. The main hope is out. It's a short one from Rahat, Williams cuts it, but does not do a good job and sends it straight to Shehzad's hands at backward point.

And Williams is devastated, hunched over his bat. He can't believe what he has done.

Which side are going to hold their nerve? Zimbabwe have not been in this position too many times.

Mungo Russell: If Zimbabwe win this it will a fantastic advert for the game. Who says we don't need the associate sides?

Steady, Mungo. They are a Test playing side.

  6. Zim 150-4 (target 236)published at 10:18 Greenwich Mean Time 1 March 2015

Is that dropped catch going to be one of those moments that keep the Pakistan team awake at night later on? After Ervine clips one through midwicket, Williams adds a three and a two to the total. He is on 33 from 30.

"Pakistan can only win this game by taking wickets but Zimbabwe are continuing to play good cricket and it is their game to lose.

"If I was Pakistan this is the stage of game where I'd attack. In my opinion they shouldn't keep the best bowlers until the end. They need wickets now.

"It is a gamble because if it doesn't come off and they don't take wickets, they will be left fairly light at the end. But it is a gamble they have to take. They need to get their big guns on."

  8. Ervine dropped on fourpublished at 10:15 Greenwich Mean Time 1 March 2015

They might be getting a bit more nervous now. Shoddy work from Umar Akmal standing up behind the stumps, as Ervine gets a slight touch to Shahid Afridi's delivery, but the wicketkeeper spills it.

  9. Zim 144-4 (Williams 28, Ervine 4)published at 10:13 Greenwich Mean Time 1 March 2015

Zimbabwe are within 100 runs of victory now. They have six wickets left and 18 overs to do it. Williams spins round on his heels, but does well to keep his shot down, but can only get one from a visually-impressive effort.

That is one of five singles at the start of the over, before Williams cuts one away and they manage to run four, although the ball doesn't have the legs to reach the rope. Nine off the over.

    Pakistan fans. Panicking yet?

Andy: Zimbabwe don't need to do anything rash, just keep rotating the strike and should knock the 100 off.

  11. Zim 135-4 (target 236)published at 10:07 Greenwich Mean Time 1 March 2015

This has certainly turned into a really entertaining match now. Aggressive running from Zimbabwe as they scamper in for two after a front-foot no ball had given them a free hit.

Good pressure applied from Zimbabwe, but not the sort of thing Pakistan need if they are to record their first victory of this year's World Cup.

"Taylor didn't even check with the umpire. He knew he'd got something on that and fair play to him for being honest and walking. I'm not sure I would have walked.

"That will give Pakistan a huge lift and a burst of energy. This could get interesting."

We said there would be more twists and turns. And Brendan Taylor is the man disappearing. It is not the best shot he has ever played. Down leg side, and Taylor gets a nick through to the keeper.

The 50 partnership between Sean Williams and Brendan Taylor came up in only 41 balls. They are picking up singles when they can to keep the pressure on their opponents. Another milestone comes up as Brendan Taylor makes his 50.

"Dav Whatmore is doing very well with Zimbabwe group. They have a nice mix of youth and experience. I didn't know how they would go in this World Cup but they are showing they can do the business.

"I am so impressed with Williams. His batting was exactly what Zimbabwe needed. Once this target gets below 100 it will be a real boost for them."

  17. Zim 124-3 (Taylor 48, Williams 16)published at 09:54 Greenwich Mean Time 1 March 2015

Zimbabwe are over halfway there to the winning post of 236. Luck seems to be on their side as well as an inside edge from Brendan Taylor could go anywhere. No Pakistan fan will be pleased to hear that it went to the boundary. Eight off the over.

A defeat for Pakistan wouldn't mean certain elimination, but it would mean they would have to beat UAE, South Africa and Ireland in their last three matches to have any chance of reaching the knockout stages.

"This is impressive batting from Taylor because he has changed his line, come a lot straighter, and he's playing a good variety of shots.

"I wonder if Pakistan will persist with Afridi? He's not having a great day on his birthday so far."

  19. Zim 116-3 (Taylor 42, Williams 15)published at 09:51 Greenwich Mean Time 1 March 2015

Zimbabwe are going after Shahid Afridi. Williams tries to sweep him away, he misses it, but his side still profit from three byes. Before some lovely shots in the rest of the over.

Taylor drives one down to long on, Williams pulls one to deep midwicket, Taylor then hits it in the same area and gets two, before he flicks one past the keeper for another two. They are rattling along now.

Nine off Afridi's over. His four overs have cost 24 runs.

Zimbabwe, who face Ireland in their next game next Saturday, are in a strong position to cause a shock here and beat Pakistan. But I get the feeling it is going to be very close, with some more twists and turns. Only two from the latest over.
