Jos Buttler's unbeaten 71 from just 35 balls helped Lancashire to a final ball victory in the Roses clash at Headingley.

Yorkshire, asked to bat by Lancashire, began strongly, with Glenn Maxwell taking 18 runs from the first over of the game.

Joe Root (55) and Gary Ballance (31) also helped Yorkshire to an above-par score 185-8.

After Lancashire lost a cluster of wickets they looked to have too much to do but Buttler's aggressive hitting, with five boundaries and five sixes, guided Lancashire to 186-6 and a nail-biting win.

  3. DURHAM BEAT DERBYSHIRE BY FIVE RUNSpublished at 22:56 British Summer Time 5 June 2015

Having restricted Durham to 147-7 - with Paul Collingwood top-scoring with 41 - Derbyshire must have been confident of victory

But a stunning late collapse in the face of some disciplined and probing Durham bowling gave the win to the visitors, with John Hastings' 3-29 proving crucial, including the removal of opener Tillakaratne Dilshan, and Usman Arshad bowling not far off the perfect final over to keep Derbyshire to 142-9.

  4. GLAMORGAN BEAT MIDDLESEX BY FOUR RUNSpublished at 22:54 British Summer Time 5 June 2015

Glamorgan earned a tense victory against Middlesex thanks to captain Jacques Rudolph's innings of 60.

The South African hit nine fours on his way to a half-century, with fellow opener Craig Meschede adding 33.

Chris Cooke starred late on with 39, as Glamorgan made 169-5

Dawid Malan's 70 gave Middlesex a fine start but Glamorgan sealed victory from the final ball.

  5. WORCESTERSHIRE BEAT NORTHANTS BY 14 RUNSpublished at 22:52 British Summer Time 5 June 2015

Moeen Ali smashed 90 off just 50 balls, in an innings that included 11 fours and five sixes, to help Worcestershire set up their second consecutive victory in the T20 Blast.

The England all-rounder and captain Daryl Mitchell (47) shared a 131-run first-wicket partnership as the Rapids hit their fifth highest score in this format.

Northants chase relied heavily on Josh Cobb's contribution of 80 from just 44 balls but the experience of Saeed Ajmal, who was brought on in the 18th over and got rid of Shahid Afridi and Cobb, ensured it was Worcestershire who were victorious.

  6. ESSEX BEAT SURREY BY SIX WICKETSpublished at 22:48 British Summer Time 5 June 2015

Essex sealed a hard-fought victory over Surrey thanks to Tom Westley and Ravi Bopara's 115-run third-wicket stand at The Oval.

Kumar Sangakkara showed all his class at the crease as he hit 58 to help Surrey set Essex a target of 170.

The Eagles seized the initiative on a balmy night in south London despite losing England captain Alastair Cook for eight early on.

Westley hit 55 from 62 balls before he was bowled by fast bowler Matt Dunn (3-34) while Bopara hit 57 as Essex powered their way to victory.

  7. LEICESTERSHIRE BEAT NOTTINGHAMSHIRE BY SIX WICKETSpublished at 22:46 British Summer Time 5 June 2015

Umar Akmal hit an unbeaten 76 off 49 balls on debut for Leicestershire to hand the Foxes victory in a low-scoring affair against Nottinghamshire at Trent Bridge.

Clint McKay's brilliant 4-24 from his four overs restricted Notts to 148-7 from their innings, with Alex Hales' half-century and 47 from wicket keeper Brendan Taylor the main contributors.

After Leicestershire struggled to 54-4, with the expensive Jake Ball picking up 3-42, Akmal smashed four fours and five sixes to guide his side to victory.

  8. SOMERSET BEAT HAMPSHIRE BY EIGHT WICKETSpublished at 22:43 British Summer Time 5 June 2015

When you employ the World Boss for a few weeks' work you expect results, and it's fair to say that Chris Gayle is delivering in a big way for Somerset.

The West Indies star made 85 not out as Somerset cruised to a comfortable win over Hampshire at Taunton, with strong support from Peter Trego and James Hildreth.

Hampshire's total of 167-3, largely built on James Vince's 64, always looked a bit short and - despite the best efforts of the outstanding Fidel Edwards - it was never really a close contest at the County Ground as Somerset raced to 173-2.

  9. GLOUCESTERSHIRE BEAT KENT BY NINE WICKETSpublished at 22:41 British Summer Time 5 June 2015

Michael Klinger shared an unbeaten century stand with Iain Cockbain (54 not out) to give Gloucestershire their third victory in this season's T20 Blast.

It was the Australian's second unbeaten score, having finished 126 not out in the only other T20 match against Essex last month.

Kent had fought their way to 156-6 from their 20 overs, with opener Daniel Bell-Drummond top-scoring with 31 off 24 balls, as Benny Howell finished with fine figures of 3-18.

And, despite Gloucestershire's Hamish Marshall falling lbw to Mitchell Claydon for 19, Klinger and Cockbain took their side to victory with 16 balls spare.

  10. Post-match verdictpublished at 22:39 British Summer Time 5 June 2015

"The first half was really good but somehow we've managed to completely throw that game away.

"Pretty much the game was won and there was no complacency but they've literally pulled the rabbit out of the hat."

  11. Post-match verdictpublished at 22:37 British Summer Time 5 June 2015

"That's the thing I love about this team, no matter what the position we always give it our all and if you do that it can sometimes turn your way and full credit to the boys for sticking at it."

  12. Post-match verdictpublished at 22:35 British Summer Time 5 June 2015

"I would say we were just below par but we were definitely in the game with a total of 170. They batted well and I thought we fielded well on the whole but in the crucial moments, they won and that's the difference.

"We lost wickets at difficult times so rather than 190 to 200 we had to settle for 170 which is a good total but the pressure was on them and they performed well.

"We didn't bowl badly today but it's not easy to beat a team of that quality and we had to be at our best but we weren't."

"That was a massive win for us. It's a massive boost for us beating Surrey, who are a top team, and hopefully it can be a springboard for the rest of the campaign because if you get a few back-to-back wins then you're back in it.

"Coming to the Oval with 20,000 people, everyone was up for it so I think we would have been gutted if we lost that and then it would have been a real uphill struggle to qualify for the later stages of the campaign.

"The way Ravi Bopara batted took a lot of pressure off myself and it's good that the boys are starting to score runs so hopefully we are just starting to hit our straps."

  14. Post-match verdictpublished at 22:31 British Summer Time 5 June 2015

"I saw Daryl Mitchell tell Ben Cox to go back and I thought he was going to keep from the edge of the ring.

"Then I turned around and saw him without pads or gloves on. It's in the laws and they've obviously looked into it and there's no law against it.

"You've just got to question whether it's in the spirit of the game. But that's probably because it's never been done before. When they first come out, these things usually get questioned and left alone.

"Our plans may not have been the best as well as our execution and we thought 180 would have been around par. Nobody means to drop catches but the way we reacted to those dropped catches didn't help us either."

  15. Post-match verdictpublished at 22:29 British Summer Time 5 June 2015

"In a game when you're trying to stop the opposition scoring, it's a legitimate tactic.

"One of the things I challenged the coaches in the winter to do, was to try and come up with some ideas that might just knock the opposition off their guard a little bit.

"It came about when I watched MS Dhoni stand back to the spinners for India and I thought that was a great idea.

"Afterwards, he said he wanted another catcher around the corner and he felt he could do that himself, standing back. That started us thinking about it.

"Let's not take anything from the game of cricket, though. There's been two sides go toe to toe here and it's been a magnificent spectacle for those who turned up."

  16. Post-match verdictpublished at 22:24 British Summer Time 5 June 2015

"It is small margins," he said. "Five runs in a Twenty20 match, you could try to find that anywhere - in the field, with the bat - but unfortunately we just came up short again.

"But we are playing a good brand of cricket. We are not getting pummelled by anyone.

"They are all close-fought contests. At the back of quite a tiring away trip in terms of travel, we have just come up short again, which is disappointing."

  17. Post-match verdictpublished at 22:21 British Summer Time 5 June 2015

"I thought our bowlers really stood up tonight and showed a lot of character.

"It is just really nice to get another win under our belts. This campaign is all about trying to get some sort of momentum and hopefully we will turn the ship around."

Pakistan wicketkeeper and brother of Umar Akmal - Kamran Akmal:, external congrats @Leicestershire for winning match vs Nottinghamshire. Well done @Umar96Akmal for amazing 76*. Keep it up & good luck for upcoming matches.

  19. Post-match verdictpublished at 22:14 British Summer Time 5 June 2015

"I think we were about 20 runs short, there was quite a short boundary, with the wind and Akmal really targeted that and he executed his plans really well, so fair play - a good innings and well done to him.

"We've got to bounce back now, it's a long tournament, there's still plenty of games to go. We go to Worcester on Sunday and have to get back to winning ways there."

  20. Post-match verdictpublished at 22:10 British Summer Time 5 June 2015

"At one stage it looked as if Notts' score might have got a bit out of hand and they might have got up to 160 or 170.

"That would have been a difficult chase but we were able to keep them below 150, which was our plan.

"We read the wicket quite well and we didn't panic in the run chase. It could have easy to sit down and say we're four down early but we had some specific plans for the middle there and Boycey (Matthew Boyce) played a pivotal role in that.

"Umar was sensational, some of those sixes were so cleanly hit, we know he can do that because he's an international player but Boycey's role was equally important."
