Well what a thrilling ending in Cardiff and a treat for all the fans who decided to forgo the allure of One Direction and the Manic Street Preachers.

Glamorgan halt Middlesex's late charge and take it to the final over where John Simpson needed a six to win from the final ball. But Glamorgan picked up the victory when he failed to connect.

An impressive performance from Daryl Mitchell's men who now have two wins from their opening three games in the North Group.

This match is petering out somewhat. The last ball of the 13th over - bowled by England's Ben Stokes - is a bizarre one which looks to have bounced twice before going well wide of the crease. Dilshan chases it miles away from the stumps and seems to hurt his back in the process. Not one for the highlights reel....

A huge over from Saeed Ajmal has almost certainly ended Northants' chase as Moeen Ali catches both Shahid Afridi and Josh Cobb in the mid-wicket region.

Cobb finished with 80 off just 44 balls with five fours and six sixes and saw the expensive Ajmal finish with figures of 3-53. Mind you the spinner bowled his final without Ben Cox standing behind the stumps. Innovative or pointless?

A full Jack Shantry ball cleans up Rory Kleinveldt's stumps before he has Rob Keogh is caught by Richard Oliver for two.

  6. WICKET Bopara (c Sangakkara b Henriques 57)published at 21:17 British Summer Time 5 June 2015

The 20,000-strong crowd are braced for a tense finish at The Oval as Ravi Bopara is well caught by Kumar Sangakkara after Tom Westley was bowled by Matt Dunn.

But it's not just the cricket that's been the focus of the bumper crowd, it's the wildlife. Play has been interrupted three times by a squirrel invading the pitch.

  7. LANCASHIRE BEAT YORKSHIRE BY FOUR WICKETSpublished at 21:17 British Summer Time 5 June 2015

A single from Tim Bresnan's fourth ball means Lancashire need two runs from two balls, and it's Arron Lilley on strike. He gets his bat on a yorker and the scores are level - one run from one ball needed...

Tim Bresnan's first ball is a good length that Jos Buttler picks up for six, before his next ball is flayed through the covers for four. The third ball is a full toss that is run down to the boundary.

Matthew Fisher has received the treatment after dismissing James Faulkner as Jos Buttler flays him for two extraordinary sixes.

The second is the best of the lot, a huge, straight hit that sails right into the press area at Headingley. That also brings up his half-century, from just 28 deliveries, with three fours and four sixes.

It's a mixed over from Fisher, who strays down the leg-side but finishes well as he traps Alex Davies for a first-ball duck with an excellent yorker. Lancashire need 17 from the final over.

Umar Akmal is doing all the big hitting for the Foxes as Jake Ball's final over goes for 15. The seamer finishes with figures of 3-42 off his four overs.

The Pakistan batsman moves to 46 off 37 balls but he is going to need to find a few more boundaries if Leicestershire are going to overcome Notts.

There is a first in Northamptonshire tonight as Moeen Ali comes on and bowls without a wicketkeeper. Ben Cox takes off his gloves and moves to short third man and the umpires look quizzically at each other, not entirely sure what to do.

Moeen is allowed to continue and goes for 10 runs before Joe Leach returns and bowls Alex Wakely for 19 to bring Shahid Afridi to the crease.

'Boom Boom' send his third ball to the shortest boundary of the ground before sending the ball away over mid-wicket for another maximum - as a new ball is called for.

This match is going to the wire!

  16. Bopara (40 balls, 5 fours)published at 21:06 British Summer Time 5 June 2015

It's a fantastic over for Essex as Ravi Bopara hits his fifty before Tom Westley hits his own fifty two balls later.

  17. Postpublished at 21:05 British Summer Time 5 June 2015

James Faulkner is off the mark straight away with a single but Tim Bresnan responds with an excellent yorker.

His third delivery is slightly more wayward - slow, wide and pulled for four. Faulkner then effortlessly drives a full ball for six to put Yorkshire on the back-foot again. The Red Rose county require 32 from 12 deliveries.

  18. Postpublished at 21:01 British Summer Time 5 June 2015

Essex are coasting here. They have scored 41 in their last five overs and Ravi Bopara and Tom Westley are both brimming with confidence.

Could Essex seal a big victory at The Oval? Remember they sit bottom of the South Group with just one win from five so far.
