The groundstaff have done well, to think we are going to play in front of a sell-out it would have been criminal if we were not able to get out here. We've brought Hazell and Wyatt back with a lot of experience in T20 and brought back Jenny Gunn for her experience. Katherine Brunt will be going in at five, we're not going to die wondering, we want to see a positive brand. This team normally play well with their backs to the wall.

I'm delighted England have brought back Wyatt and Hazell, it's a positive step. Hazell is the number one T20 bowler in the world, you can't not pick her. I know a lot of the Australia batsmen really do fear her.

A bit of team news for you - England have named spinners Danielle Hazell and Danielle Wyatt, both brought into the squad today, in their XI. There's no place for Rebecca Grundy, Laura Marsh or Georgia Elwiss.

We might have had a bowl as well but we're in a good position. If we play to our potential the result will take care of itself.

We shouldn't forget that not only have Australia won the last three World Twenty20 events in 2010, 2012 and 2014 - but they are currently on a record run of 16 successive victories in this format.

Since a defeat by New Zealand in March 2014, they've beaten South Africa once, Ireland four times, Pakistan five times, West Indies once and England once.

Will it be "sixteen, going on seventeen" for the Southern Stars tonight?

One new name in the Australian ranks for the Twenty20 internationals, who wasn't involved in the ODIs or Test, is powerful all-rounder Grace Harris, 21, who starred in Ireland last week as Australia warmed up for this series with a 3-0 clean sweep of the Irish.

The Queensland right-hander made 39 not out from 21 balls in the third and final game in Ireland, after an opening stand of 121 by Elyse Villani (80 from 53 balls) and Ellyse Perry (55 not out from 46).

England proudly boast that they've never lost at Chelmsford - in Twenty20 cricket they've beaten South Africa by nine wickets in 2014, Australia by 15 runs in 2013, India by eight wickets in 2012, New Zealand by eight wickets in 2011 and by 37 runs in 2010. In the ODI format they've beaten Australia twice in 2009, NZ in 2004, and SA in 2003 and 2000.

It's about now that a pessimist like my dad would say something like "well, these runs always have to end some time..."

  18. Exciting conclusion at Bristolpublished at 18:27

Before that, there's been an exciting One-Day Cup quarter-final being played out on BBC Radio 5 live sports extra at Bristol. Gloucestershire, chasing 218 from 34 overs in a rain-affected game with Hampshire, looked doomed when captain Michael Klinger fell for 87, but some big hitting from Jack Taylor has left the hosts needing only 15 from three overs.

And despite the weather, a sell-out crowd is expected at Chelmsford this evening - it's been a popular venue when it's staged women's internationals in recent years.

TMS will be on air from 18:45 - with Alison Mitchell, Charles Dagnall, Ebony Rainford-Brent, Isa Guha and Izzy Westbury standing by, having packed their waterproofs.
