  1. Aus 45-4published at 9.2 overs

Off-spinner Danielle Hazell is England's fifth bowler, coming on at the Cathedral Road End - but Blackwell hits her second ball back down the ground for four, Hazell nearly does the splits diving to stop it but that's four all the way.

  3. Aus 41-4 (Perry 14, Blackwell 5)published at 9 overs

After an over of Grundy, England turn to Natalie Sciver's medium pace, the singles keep flowing but the crowd applauds a brilliant one-handed stop by Lydia Greenway at backward point.

Shrubsole has bowled that consistent good length just outside off stump. But she also exploited the conditions to get good swing. It has been difficult for Australia to play. The way the last T20 went, England know they need to keep going hard at Australia.

  5. Aus 37-4 (Shrubsole 4-0-11-4)published at 8 overs

Perry is going along nicely here, she has an even 12 from 12 balls, and Shrubsole can take a bow after an impressive spell.

Blackwell is living a bit of a dangerous life, stepping across. She could have been given out early in the over and if she'd missed another inswinging delivery she would have been in trouble.

  7. Aus 35-4published at 7.2 overs

Shrubsole is going to bowl her overs straight through - and with 4-8 from her first three overs, why not? Again, Blackwell survives an appeal for leg before from the Somerset seamer.

  8. Aus 34-4published at 7 overs

Left-arm spinner Rebecca Grundy into the attack (with the field restrictions lifted), Blackwell forces a two off her legs. There's nearly a run-out chance when Blackwell knocks the ball to short fine leg again, she hesitates as Perry comes haring through for a single, and a more accurate throw would have had Blackwell in trouble. Perry clubs a four through long-on, the first boundary for a while.

Shrubsole has been brilliant. She has lost a bit of momentum this year with injury but she has done superbly. She has pitched the ball in the right areas. England need to show that there is not a big gulf between themselves and Australia and this spell has done that.

  10. Aus 25-4 (Shrubsole 3-0-8-4)published at 6 overs

Alex Blackwell, celebrating her 32nd birthday today, is the new batter and Shrubsole's nearly on a hat-trick as Blackwell is hit on the pad walking across her stumps and trying to force the ball to leg... but the appeal is to no avail.

Shrubsole has 4-8 from three overs. If this was the pre-1984 era where wides (and no-balls) didn't count against the bowler, she'd have 4-4.

Massive wicket. A first-baller and Shrubsole gets the ball in the right area again, moving just away. The skipper is happy - she has taken a great catch to take one of Australia's most in-form players.

    Jonassen c Edwards b Shrubsole 0 (Aus 25-4)

A golden duck - and Shrubsole has four! The left-handed Jonassen slices a catch to skipper Charlotte Edwards who dives forward at short third man to take a good catch.

  13. Aus 25-3published at 5.3 overs

Jess replaces Jess as Jonassen replaces Cameron, Shrubsole sends down her third wide of a long over as Perry adds a single to bring the left-handed Jonassen on strike for the first time.

Take a bow Anya Shrubsole. She has been the stand-out for England throughout the summer and she is doing it here again for England.

    Cameron c Wyatt b Shrubsole 10 (Aus 23-3)

Three for Shrubsole! Cameron goes for the big one again but picks out Danielle Wyatt who only has to take a couple of steps back at deep mid-wicket to take the catch.

If you know Cardiff, you'll know the square boundaries are very long (with the straight boundaries comparatively short), but that was never going to have the legs to clear the rope.

  17. Aus 23-2published at 5.0 overs

Alison Mitchell joins Mel Jones on TMS duty - the pair attended the Notting Hill Carnival over the weekend - but it's far from party time for Shrubsole this over as with keeper Sarah Taylor standing up to the stumps, Shrubsole starts with two wides.

Brunt and Shrubsole have been excellent. England may have lost the Ashes but in that you don't want to lose that they have had moments where they have played well.

  19. Aus 21-2 (Brunt 3-0-16-0)published at 5 overs

Cameron moves into double figures with a quick single, three wicketless overs from Brunt and they'll probably save her final over for the death.
