Last time they were here, England were soundly beaten in the Test series but won the ODIs 4-0. That doesn't mean it's going to happen here, but it does show how you can turn it around.

I agree Andy - I've been banging the drum for his Test inclusion for a couple of years now. Although his struggles against Pat Cummins in his last England outings have worried me. Does he struggle against extreme pace?

Pakistan captain Azhar Ali: "Younus has been a trememdous role model for us and a great ambassador for Pakistan, we really want to win for him and give him a good send-off. The track looks good, we also wanted to bat first but the toss is just a formality to start the game."

England have won the toss and will bat first.

"It's looks good and hopefully it will be reasonably good to bat on this afternoon," said captain Eoin Morgan of the pitch. "We've progressed over the last couple of series, this is a new series and a new test. Hopefully the challenges we come across, we can overcome.

"A big challenge is to make something happen with the ball in conditions which don't always suit while with the bat it's about dealing with reverse swing and spin."

During my 15-year long association with ODI cricket, I always tried my best to play positive cricket for my team both as captain and as a player. But now I feel that the time has come when I should call it a day.

Morning all. Are you ready for some 50-over stuff?

Of course you are. It should be good this - England have flown in the big hitting openers and are ready to unleash some faster bowlers.

And they have a good record in this format against Pakistan in the UAE - they've won seven of nine ODIs.

It's time to replace the red ball with the white ball, swap cream flannels for coloured pyjamas and, of course, we really should fire up the floodlights.

Let's switch from bowling a good length to finding the block hole. No more singles, it's all about boundaries.

Ladies and gentlemen... it's time for some crash, bang and wallop.

England v Pakistan, a four match ODI series. Let's do this.
