Lovely shot from Hales, driving down the ground for four, helped by a parry off AB de Villiers. He's on 98...

Stuart Broad the new man. Can he dog it out, like the Broad of old, or will we see the towel thrown in? Alex Hales must be wondering if he's got time to make a ton. He looks angrier than a bulldog chewing a wasp.

"He had a swish and didn't quite middle it. At 192-7 with 14 overs to go, it was a poor shot. Alex Hales could be deprived of a hundred here because nobody is staying with him. England are looking callow. I'm not sure they are showing any brains here."

    Rashid c Rabada b Wiese 9 (Eng 192-8)

At the moment, England's centre is softer than a jam doughnut. Collectively, they have shown all the solidity of wet toilet paper. Adil Rashid is the latest to fall in sloppy fashion, scooping David Wiese to mid-off. Has no one realised there's a bloke in the 90s at the other end? Maybe hanging around with him is a good idea?

Nathan, there's so much going on here. Firstly, the face of your partner is excellent. She couldn't be less happy to be in that snap, or the fact you've just shared it with the world. Also, who is the lady in the background and why is she knitting?

I'm all for England's new approach to ODI cricket, but have they gone to the extreme? Go hard or go home is all well and good, but there has to be time for diligence, right? Assess the conditions, what's a good score? The fourth ODI proved that you don't always need 350+ to win. Hales, with the weight of the series on his shoulders, defends Abbott. Only one from the over.

  12. Women's ODI: SA v Englandpublished at 10:44 Greenwich Mean Time 14 February 2016

    SA 165-7 (42.3 overs)

England have a wicket - Sune Luus (20) caught by Amy Jones at mid-wicket from Heather Knight's off-spin after a stand of 80, but the dangerous Lizelle Lee is still there on 68.

Adil Rashid the new man, the latest to join Alex Hales. At the moment, Hales is going down with the sinking ship. A captain standing on the deck, singing the national anthem as he goes under water.

"Woakes got good bat on it but it went straight to the fielder on the boundary. The bowler knows it was a poor ball, he's a little sheepish. England have got no slack because they made so many mistakes earlier in the innings. South Africa have been given more assistance than the batsmen than the pitch."

    Woakes c Abbott b Wiese 0 (Eng 183-7)

You're kidding. Is this bad luck, or a bad shot? Probably the latter. Chris Woakes has somehow helped a David Wiese leg-stump half-volley into the hands of Kyle Abbott at fine leg. How did he get it there? Abbott didn't have to move. In the circumstances, that's a pretty bad way to get out.

  17. Women's ODI: SA v Englandpublished at 10:36

    SA 159-6 (40 overs)

Lizelle Lee (63 from 66 balls) is still frustrating England, she's passed the half-century mark and has added 74 with Sune Luus (19). They're now into the last 10 overs.

  18. Eng 181-6published at 34 overs

Chris Woakes the new man. With 16 overs left, he's in miles too early. Looking again, that was a very, very loose shot from Moeen. He's not done the bizo with the bat in ODIs for a year now. So much resting on Alex Hales.

"Was there any need to hit that ball in the air? It was a fantastic catch by Behardien, who leapt in the air and took it with one hand. England are in a spot of bother."

  20. wicket

    WICKETpublished at 33.5 overs

    Moeen c Behardien b Abbott 12 (Eng 181-6)

Gone. Once again England lose a wicket as a partnership is developing. Perhaps the pressure of a couple of tight overs was the key. Moeen Ali looked to drive Kyle Abbott, but could only take the aerial route to cover, when Farhaan Behardien took a very smart, leaping catch. England teetering.
