Summary

  • South Africa win series 3-2

  • Hosts won last three matches

  • England women win ODI series 2-1

  1. SA 10-0published at 4 overs

Reece Topley is just struggling with the swing here, arcing the ball past the pads of Amla to give away a couple of wides. When he gets it right, he's an lbw threat to the Mighty Beard. All quite sedate in Cape Town, as if the locals haven't yet returned from the lunchtime braai.

"If you look at the South African batting line-up, you can see an island of opportunity once England get past these two openers, Faf du Plessis and AB de Villiers."

  3. SA 6-0 (target 237)published at 3 overs

It really is beautiful at Newlands, picture painting stuff. Blue sky, fluffy cloud, sunshine and lush green, all with a mountain casually peering over to watch the cricket. Broad to Amla, proper cricket, not pajama nonsense. Probe off stump, leave alone, whip one off the hip. England keeping a lid on it.

  5. SA 5-0 (De Kock 4, Amla 1)published at 2 overs

The square jaw of Reece Topley shares new-ball duties, greeted by a flowing drive for four from De Kock. There's shape for Topley, though, causing some problems for both the left-handed De Kock and right-hander Hahsim Amla. England have made a decent start with the ball. Now, their biggest challenge is to take any chance that comes.

  6. Women's ODI: SA v Englandpublished at 12:18

    Eng 30-2 (5.2 overs) - target 197

England have just lost openers Lauren Winfield (11) and Amy Jones (18 from 17 balls) in the space of three deliveries as they look to clinch the series.

"England have got to have self-belief that they can save this match because South Africa have the pressure of chasing down a total to win the series."

  8. SA 0-0 (target 237)published at 1 over

Broad is immediately round the wicket to the left-handed Quinton de Kock, the man who has battered the England attack in this series. De Kock plays an uppish drive, but it's short of reaching Eoin Morgan at mid-off. There's lots of chirp from the England fielders, lots of encouragement for Broad, who begins with a probing maiden.

"England were reckless with the bat and have put themselves under undue pressure."

The South Africa batsmen are in the middle, Stuart Broad is marking out his run. We're set fair in Cape Town. England need something special to win this series. South Africa are looking to become only the third team to come from 2-0 down to win a five-match series...

I've just seen some footage of the catches dropped and run outs missed by England during the fourth ODI on Friday. Five in total. They have to do better if they are going to salvage something today.

Over in New Zealand, Australia continue to dominate the first Test.

It's down, in large parts, to Adam Voges who says he is uncomfortable with comparisons to legendary Australia batsman Sir Donald Bradman, despite both having a Test average in the 90s.

His Australian team-mates called him "Sir Voges" after he took his average above Bradman's 99.94 before it settled on 97.46 when he was out for 239 in the first Test on Sunday.

"I'm happy it's back under 100, it was never going to stay there," said Voges.

New Zealand ended day three on 178-4 in their second innings, 201 runs behind.

Stewart A: Think South Africa will easily chase down the runs probably with 10 overs to spare!

Ben Wire: I'm not sure England lost their way so much as SA finally found theirs. If the Tests were next it might be a different story.

"It is beautiful though, joking aside."
