Not only 106 off the final 10, but 94 off the last eight. That's almost 12 an over. Sri Lanka, with batting not exactly their strong point at the moment, are in danger of slipping to a shock defeat.

That is some effort from Afghanistan. They took 106 runs from the final 10 overs of the innings. They've given themselves a real chance of shocking the defending champions. Game on in Kolkata.
Russel Arnold
Former Sri Lanka all-rounder
"That is the first ball Najibullah Zadran faced - take that! It's a very poor delivery, it must be said, but what a good shot. It's kind of a par score for Kolkata, but I'm pretty sure Afghanistan will be pretty happy with this total."
First ball six! Najibullah Zadran leans back and hits Kulasekara over cover for six. That is such a difficult shot to play, never mind off your first ball.
Afg 140-7
Should have been taken, but Chameera gets into a right tangle. Dawlat Zadran reprieved with a skyer to short fine leg, taking a couple of runs.
Stanikzai c Chandimal b Thisara 62 (Afg 136-7)
Gone this time. The end of a wonderful innings by Afghanistan captain Asghar Stanikzai. Trying to play with the field, he looks for a reverse scoop over third man, doesn't get the contact and loops an easy chance to the wicketkeeper. Fantastic effort, giving his team something to bowl at.
Shafiqullah c Thirimanne b Thisara 5 (Afg 132-6)
Shafiqullah can't repeat the biffing of his skipper, finding the man on the mid-wicket fence. A wicket and a dot ball for Sri Lanka, but not the one they wanted. The flying Stanikzai remains.
What. A. Hit. Sri Lanka are trying to bowl wide yorkers, so Asghar Stanikzai just steps back and heaves high into the night sky. Off one leg. Thisara Perera misses his length by inches and is punished with a straight maximum.

Spencer, Crawley: Once met Courtney Walsh in a video store in Southfields. I asked him to take it easy on England's batsmen as he kept bowling us out. He just laughed.
There might have been a milestone for the skipper, but it's another very tidy over from Dushmantha Chameera. Only six from it. At the end of his four overs, he's got figures of 0-19. No wicket, but miserly stuff. Remember the name.
Afg 120-5
Well played. A single takes Asghar Stanikzai to a very valuable half-century. He absorbed the pressure earlier on, then exploded into life. Only 42 balls, including two fours and three sixes. He's dragged his team along by their bootlaces.
Athar Ali Khan
Former Bangladesh all-rounder
"Such flair from Stanikzai. This is a real captain's innings and there are overs remaining - we have a game on."
All happening now. Stanikzai finishes the over by hitting aerially to cover for four more. 49 off 41 from the skipper, who could still get his side past 140.
Afg 113-5
Oh, skipper. What has Angelo Mathews done here? Very next ball, Stanikzai hits straight to Mathews at cover, but the cpatain doesn't look close to catching it. He;s blaming the lights, I think. That old excuse...
Shenwari c Thisara b Kulasekara 31 (Afg 112-5)
Fun over. Samiullah Shenwari's impetus-adding knock comes to an end, holing out to long-off. He's given his team a sniff, though.
Ramiz Raja
Former Pakistan captain
"This is exactly what Afghanistan needed. To move briskly into towards a possible total of 140."
It's remarkable, it really is. Shenwari again, this time belting Kulasekara. It's equal-opportunity destruction.

Hari, Derbyshire: Spotted Viv Richards with wife and daughter at Mumbai airport 15 years ago. I was star struck and could only muster a feeble 'hello viv' to which he winked.
From nowhere, Afghanistan look like they could get to something workable. They've taken 35 off three overs. 140 isn't out of the question, and that would provide Sri Lanka with a tricky test. Now Samiullah Shenwari is in on the act, belting Thisara Perera back down the ground for four, following that up with the oddest reverse-scoop you'll ever see. He ends up flat on his back, with his feet pointing towards the wicketkeeper. Four more, though.
Sami fours
