"It's a brilliant catch and the dangerous Afridi is out. Sometimes when you're catching one that high your arms can end up in front of your eyes."

Afridi c Anderson b Sodhi 19 (Pkn 123-4)
He went for it, he came down the pitch, he hit it well, but Anderson leaps to take a neat catch under huge pressure to his left on the long-off boundary, 58 needed from 29 balls.
(Afridi 19, Akmal 15)
Chasing 11 an over, Pakistan had only scored three from the first four balls of McClenaghan's over but Afridi thumps a full toss through extra cover for a much needed boundary.

Dave Moore: After this morning's tight game I can see this one going down to the wire as well. Exciting stuff!
Eric Lubisse: Pakistan's game to lose.
(Target 181)
Afridi made 49 from 19 balls against Bangladesh and he pummels his first maximum here, sending it high and many rows back over mid-wicket as Sodhi drops short.

Aamer Iqbal: With Pakistan it is always the hope that kills you. Great start but they will fail, as they always do.
Zigzag: New Zealand look such a convincing team. Got all bases covered, hard to see them not at least making the final.
The big man has the baton. Afridi to the crease and he smashes his second ball over cover for four.
Harsha Bhogle
Commentator
"This was coming from a mile away. You could see the desperation to get a move on from Pakistan."
Shehzad c Guptill b Santner 30 (Pkn 96-3)
The pressure was building and Shehzad, trying to force the pace can only send a long hop to deep mid-wicket, Guptill taking a nonchalant catch above his head.
Just singles again off the spin of Sodhi and we have gone five overs without a boundary.
Santner again, the first bowler to send down two consecutive overs in the innings, and why not? some sharp spin for the left-armer and just a couple of singles conceded. Good recovery from the Kiwis.

Kirk Denton: The cricket world cup is turning out to be a cracker. Can't believe the high standards we are getting with both ball and bat.
Anwar Hussain: Sharjeel batting may uplift the soul for some time but, we know Pakistan lack good finishers particularly when they chase.
(Target 181)
Elliott returns, his short, upright run-up rather reminiscent of former England stalwart Paul Collingwood. Pakistan content to push singles and why not after the start they had, but the required rate is back above nine, having dropped significantly when Sharjeel was at the crease.
Wasim Akram
Former Pakistan captain
"Latif played against the spin and got the edge. There was a bit of turn from Santner and I think he checked the length as well."
(Shehzad 24)
No boundaries again in the over for Pakistan but they are still ahead, New Zealand were 76-2 at the same stage.
Latif c Elliott b Santner 3 (Pkn 79-2)
Santner strikes, it went high from Latif but it also went straight into the hands of long-on.
(Target 181)
Leg-spinner Ish Sodhi, playing only his eighth T20 international, is introduced, no doubt hugely relieved that Sharjeel is back into the pavilion. He becomes the first man to keep a boundary at bay in the innings.
Pommie Mbangwa
Former Zimbabwe fast bowler
"New Zealand have had to strap themselves in while Sharjeel Khan has gone berserk, but now they've got him they'll feel like they can come back."
(Shehzad 20)
Grant Elliott is the new bowler with his right-arm dibbly dobblies, the fourth man in the innings to begin his spell by conceding a boundary, cut savagely away by Shehzad.
(Target 181)
Suddenly it is a different game, with the batsmen struggling to pierce the in-field. Quite a start given to Pakistan though so plenty to work with and no immediate hurry.
