It is no easy task, but Taylor somehow lofts a single past the giant Irfan. The same batsman then has another slice of fortune as his swing sends the ball high to deep midwicket but safely between two converging men. Ronchi's hitting is cleaner as he drives down the ground for six.

"Eleven off the over. Taylor and Ronchi will be happy with that. Ronchi has been sent out because of his ability to hit the ball cleanly right from the start."
Brilliant from Taylor. He knows there is a man at short fine leg so he drops to his knee and gets enough to carry Amir's first ball over for four. Some good running between the wickets keeps the scoreboard ticking. 11 off the over.
Luke Ronchi joins Ross Taylor to see if they can try and get some momentum going again. Afridi is on top, though. Just four runs off the over.
Anderson c Malik b Afridi 21 (NZ 132-4)
Another timely blow for Pakistan. Afridi goes for four but dismisses Anderson next ball as the batsman looks to go down the ground but does not connect properly and is caught at long-on by Shoaib Malik.
Ross Taylor is the new man. No time for him to settle in if New Zealand want to get near 200. Good stuff from Mohammad Sami, who went for a four first ball but ends with dot, wicket, dot, dot, dot.
Guptill b Sami 80 (NZ 127-3)
Guptill brute-smashes Sami for four wide of extra-cover but the bowler gets his revenge with a straight ball that the batsman tries to work for a single but instead plays on to his stumps. Pakistan know how big and necessary wicket this is. The way Guptill was going, it could have got very messy had he stuck around.
Afridi is back to try and regain some control for his side. It doesn't start well as Guptill sweeps a lose ball away for four. The opener continues his assault by rocking back to a short ball and cutting powerfully to the rope.
Irfan returns and is unlucky not to get Corey Anderson, who almost chops on to successive balls, the second running away for four. Anderson connects better with the last ball - a muscular hammer of a shot straight down the ground for four. It wasn't even a bad ball. These two are the very definition of a power pairing. Proper units. It's like bowling to the Legion of Doom.
Top sliding work from Amir down at deep backward-square prevents another boundary as Imad drops short. This New Zealand pair have their running boots on and they bring up three figures.
Guptill goes on the attack, smashing two fours through the leg side. Both were sweep shots, both perfectly-timed. Not many players in the world can play a shot like that once, never mind twice in the same over.
NZ 83-2
Afridi is screaming for an lbw against Guptill but the umpire shakes his head. It was close as to whether it was pad first or bat. Maybe a bit high too. Guptill then takes himself to 50 with a well-run two.
Wasim Akram
Former Pakistan captain
"New Zealand need a partnership. They've lost two wickets now and I'd like to see a slip for Afridi, particularly when he's bowling to Corey Anderson."
Corey Anderson has a scare as a direct throw nearly runs him out as he scampers a single from his first ball. He is comfortably home, though. Another good over from Imad. Pakistan have checked New Zealand's progress.
96 wicket now for Afridi in T20s. He is the leading wicket-taker in the world. He ends his first over to Guptill, who gets a single to keep the strike away from new man Corey Anderson.
Munro c Sharjeel b Afridi 7 (NZ 75-2)
Shahid Afridi comes into the attack and initially suffers for the lack of a slip as Munro edges through the vacant area for four. He gets his man a few balls later, though, as Munro switch-hits the ball straight to Sharjeel Khan at sweeper cover.
Colin Munro is the new man and off the mark straight away, giving strike to Guptill, who flashes hard at a full, wide ball and is rewarded with a sliced four.
