  1. Ban 99-5 (need 48 from 36 balls)published at 14 overs

Dhoni sticks with the golden arm of Jadeja, who the Bangladesh pair treat with total respect. They have bought themselves time. No need to do anything stupid. This is going to go down to the wire, isn't it?

  2. Ban 95-5 (Ashwin 4-0-20-2)published at 13 overs

Ashwin beats new man Soumya Sarkar time and again, drawing oohs and aahs from the crowd but no further wickets. The spinner has bowled out. He has done a superb job for his team, but will it be enough?

    Shakib c Raina b Ashwin 22 (Ban 95-5)

More twists and turns than a twisty, turny thing. What was I saying about big players? Ashwin returns and claims Shakib first ball with one that turns away from the left-hander and finds an edge that carries to slip Raina.

South Africa beat Ireland by 67 runs

It's all over for the Irish - they're eliminated from semi-final contention after finishing on 89-9, well short of their target of 157. Their final group game is against defending champions Australia in Delhi on Saturday.

  5. Ban 95-4 (need 52 off 48 balls)published at 12 overs

Bangladesh are still in charge, despite the loss of another wicket. Mahmudulllah is a finsher, and Shakib is no slouch as he demonstrates by smashing a six over mid-wicket. The hush around the stadium says it all.

  6. wicket

    Mashrafe b Jadeja 6 (Ban 87-4)

When India need something special, they turn to their big players. Jadeja returns and strikes immediately, spearing a quicker ball in as Mashrafe charges and clean bowling him.

  7. Ban 87-3published at 11 overs

The crowd briefly cheer as a direct hit threatens to run out Mashrafe, but replays show he is home by a long way. Shakib then takes the Bangladesh six tally to three for the game with a powerful swipe to cow corner. Bangladesh are doing this in style.

  8. dropped catch

    Dropped catchpublished at 10.3 overs

    Ban 80-3

Another one goes down as Ashwin dives in low to try and catch a slice from Shakib to deep cover, but he cannot hold on. Not an easy chance, but these are the kind you need to take to win the tight matches.

  9. Ban 77-3 (need 70 more off 60 balls)published at 10 overs

I suspect Raina was brought on to allow Jadeja to bowl later on. But he has bought his side a wicket. He blots his copybook slightly with a length ball that allows new man Mashrafe Mortaza to hammer down the ground for six. This is tense stuff.

  10. wicket

Sabbir st Dhoni b Raina 26 (Ban 69-3)

Dhoni to the rescue! This is an unbelievable piece of work by the India wicket-keeper. Suresh Raina is introduced and he turns one past Sabbir, who in swivelling lifts his feet a fraction off the ground. It is at this exact point that Dhoni strikes, whipping off the bails. A huge moment. It could be the turning-point.

  13. Ban 67-2 (need 80 from 66 balls)published at 9 overs

On comes Pandya, who goes in search of another wicket but is unlucky as a quick short ball is top-edged by Sabbir on the pull. The batsman also chances his arm with a slice from a wild swing that brings him four more down through third man. Silence from the stands.

"Clever bowling from Jadeja, a round arm action and he gets the big wicket."

  15. Ban 56-2 (need 91 off 72 balls)published at 8 overs

A fine over from Jadeja. Shakib Al Hasan is the new batsman and he gets off the mark, but it is only one of three runs off the over.

  16. wicket

    WICKETpublished at 7.4 overs

Tamim st Dhoni b Jadeja 35 (Ban 55-2)

Did Tamim need to do this? Jadeja takes over from Bumrah and has the Bangladesh opener dancing down and missing his fourth ball. Dhoni makes no mistake in whipping off the bails. That is a blow to Bangladesh and a much-needed wicket for the hosts.

  17. Women's World Twenty20published at 16:36 Greenwich Mean Time 23 March 2016

Ireland need 157 to beat South Africa

It's not looking hopeful for Ireland - they've just lost captain Isobel Joyce (22) and opener Clare Shillington (34 from 28 balls) in successive overs and they're 70-5 after 14 overs, needing 87 from the last 36 deliveries.

  18. Ban 53-1 (Target 147)published at 7 overs

India need wickets, which is why MS Dhoni continues with Ashwin. But the spinner is unable to make the breakthrough for his side. Sabbir brings another boundary with a top edge from a reverse sweep. Everything is going swimmingly for Bangladesh.

  19. Ban 45-1 (need 102 from 84 balls)published at 6 balls

No hiding from Bumrah. Fresh from his horror drop, he is thrown the ball again. Tamim has no sympathy, slicing a four though the off side before muscling a lofted boundary straight, then edging another to the rope at third man and ending with a fourth courtesy of a brutal swipe that takes the ball wide of extra cover. Bangladesh ending the powerplay in style. Poor Bumrah limps away to lick his wounds.

  20. Ban 29-1 (Target 147)published at 5 overs

Wound, say hello to salt. Sabbir rocks back and smashes Ashwin's last ball over midwicket and in to the stand.
