Adam Wheeler: MoM should go to Jimmy Anderson especially for his Michelle Pffeifer in the second innings.

Billo: Man of the match? No doubt for me. Rod Tucker. Had it all. Entertaining as 3rd umpire.

All in all, I think England will be pretty pleased with that. Yes, they had to do a bit of hard yakka this morning as Chandimal and Herath made hay, but in the end it's actually worked out quite nicely - that little chase allowed Cook to get the 10,000-runs monkey off his back, and Nick Compton to get some much-needed time in the middle.

"It's been good that England have had to work a little bit harder than they did at Headingley. After the first innings of Sri Lanka, we all expected to be home yesterday. The way Sri Lanka fought in the second innings gives them a little bit of hope. It's the first innings that did for Sri Lanka."

England beat Sri Lanka by nine wickets and win the seriespublished at 16:43 British Summer Time 30 May 2016

Have that! Compo finishes the job with consecutive boundaries! He pulls Milinda Siriwardana powerfully through midwicket and England have won. Sri Lanka made them work for it, but that's another comprehensive win for England and they take their third series win in the last four. With just one Test remaining, they have an unassailable 2-0 lead. Good work, chaps.

Nearly there, Nick, nearly there. He'll be dreaming of red ink. He watches the first four deliveries of Lakmal's over sail harmlessly past off stump, then nudges a single off his legs. It's not exactly pulse-quickening stuff, but it's doing the job...

Suranga Lakmal comes into the attack for one of the more pointless spells of his career. Compton is beginning to look a bit more comfortable now: a very well-timed clip off his legs earns him a second boundary. His dad, watching in the crowd, applauds. I'd wager good money Mr Compton doesn't have any fingernails left. Nick sees off the rest of the over solidly enough.

Compton, face pale, teeth gritted, looks like a celebrity about to undergo one of those particularly unpleasant challenges on a popular jungle-based reality show: funneling cockroaches into his mouth, or immersing himself in a bathtub of scorpions or something. However, that might settle him down - lovely muscled pull through mid-wicket for his first boundary.

That's delicate from Cook, late-cutting Herath nicely through the vacant third-man region. They pick up three. Compton plays the most unconvincing attempted Dilscoop you're ever likely to see. Steady, Nicholas...
