  1. Three day match?published at 17:35 British Summer Time 9 May 2016

    Lancashire 456 v Hampshire 109 & 9-1

BBC Sport's Stephan Shemilt at Old Trafford:

"How often do we see this? One team bats all day, makes it look so simple, then the opposition loses early wickets when they get their turn late in the day. It's brilliant from James Anderson, taking the edge of Jimmy Adams, who goes for a duck. Much more of that and Hampshire will be vanquished in three days."

  2. wicket

WICKET Joyce (lbw b Durston 250)published at 17:33 British Summer Time 9 May 2016

    Sussex 430-5 v Derbyshire 191

Finally he falls, but not before Ed Joyce reaches 250 - his highest ever score in first-class cricket.

Out lbw to Wes Durston, Joyce receives a standing ovation from all around the County Ground in Derby. It's been a superb innings from the Irishman who struck 34 fours and two sixes in his time at the crease.

Shortly after, Sussex lose their fifth wicket as Derbyshire's Shiv Thakor removes Matt Machan, caught by Tom Poynton.

But there is no doubt today belongs to Joyce.

  3. James Vince battingpublished at 17:31 British Summer Time 9 May 2016

    Lancashire 456 v Hampshire 109 & 6-1

Lancashire and England paceman James Anderson removes Hampshire opener Jimmy Adams with his fourth ball, which brings England hopeful James Vince to the crease. Can he make amends for his first innings run out for nought?

  4. 'Remarkable day at Grace Road'published at 17:24 British Summer Time 9 May 2016

    Leicestershire 337 & 62-3 v Northants 151

BBC Radio Northampton’s Alex Winter at Grace Road:

“Remarkable second day here. 18 wickets have fallen. The new rules at the toss were supposed to stop these type of days but batsman have come and gone since the first over this morning. Nice and warm, a bit of swing and this green-tinged wicket still offering something for the bowlers despite the blazing sunshine.

“Leicestershire are still well ahead and a even as few as a hundred more in this second innings should make the game safe - Northamptonshire have never made a score over 300 in the fourth innings against Leicestershire."

  5. Close of play at Cardiffpublished at 17:22 British Summer Time 9 May 2016

    Glamorgan 42-4 v Worcestershire 456-6 dec

The weather has had its say in Wales as the umpires call time.

A day that will be remembered for Brett D'Oliveira reaching his maiden double ton.

  6. wicket

WICKET Wagner (st Wheater b Crane 37)published at 17:20 British Summer Time 9 May 2016

    Lancashire 456 v Hampshire 109

BBC Sport's Stephan Shemilt at Old Trafford:

"Lancashire are finally bowled out for 456, a lead of 347.

"It's undoubtedly their day, but it will be best remembered for the pace, hostility, histrionics and entertainment provided by Tino Best. The West Indies pacer took five wickets, including two spectacular yorkers to uproot the stumps of Liam Livingstone and James Anderson.

"It was spectacular stuff, complete with running, first-pumping celebrations."

  7. wicket

WICKET Taylor (c Hughes b Thakor 6)published at 17:18 British Summer Time 9 May 2016

    Sussex 408-3 v Derbyshire 191

The illustrious previous partnership of 310 between Luke Wells and Ed Joyce is now followed up by one only of 27 as Ross Taylor is caught in the slips by Chesney Hughes off the bowling of Shiv Thakor.

Maybe time to listen to the advice of Alick?

Having said that, Ed Joyce continues to add to his tally

BBC WM's Mike Taylor has details of the latest wicket at Edgbaston:

"Two wickets in the session now for Boyd Rankin.

"Lewis Gregory's first delivery, from Rankin, clattered into the batsman's helmet as he tried to duck out of the way.  He bravely continued with new headgear, but in Rankin's next over pushed across the line of a full delivery and was lbw - a regular mode of dismissal today.

"25 overs are still available today."

BBC WM's Mike Taylor has more details from Edgbaston:

  19. 200 runs

ED JOYCE SMASHES DOUBLE CENTURYpublished at 16:42 British Summer Time 9 May 2016

    Sussex 365-1 v Derbyshire 191

This is remarkable batting from Sussex opener Ed Joyce

It may have been slow this morning but now the Irishman, in the 95th, 96th and 97th overs has hit 10 fours, including five in a row (see 4:31PM).

Sorry to keep bringing it up but Ed Joyce was dropped on 47 - how bad do you feel now, Derbyshire?

He follows up the double century with another boundary, and then the following ball brings up the 300 partnership with Luke Wells. Wow.

  20. 150 runs

JOE ROOT HITS 150published at 16:38 British Summer Time 9 May 2016

    Yorkshire 382-3 v Surrey 330

Yorkshire's Joe Root continues to churn out the runs at Headingley as he moves to his 150 off just 160 balls.
