    WICKET Patel (c Malan b Roland-Jones 86)published at 11:07 British Summer Time 9 May 2016

    Nottinghamshire 346-8 v Middlesex

Samit Patel goes in just the second over of the day at Lord's, caught at deep square leg by Dawid Malan off Toby Roland-Jones, 14 runs short of his century.

Just the start the hosts would have wanted as they look to keep Notts to a respectable total.

    Sussex 83-1 v Derbyshire 191

  5. 'Belting day for cricket'published at 10:57 British Summer Time 9 May 2016

    Lancashire 157-1 v Hampshire 109

BBC Sport's Stephan Shemilt at Old Trafford:

"It's another belting day for cricket at Old Trafford, which isn't good news for Hampshire. Sunshine, not a cloud in the sky, a day for batting and for Lancashire to build on their lead of 48 runs. For Hampshire, it looks like a lot of hard yakka."

  6. 'Overcast morning at Edgbaston'published at 10:56 British Summer Time 9 May 2016

    Warwickshire 27-2 v Somerset 295

BBC WM's Mike Taylor at Edgbaston:

"A rather hazier morning at Edgbaston than yesterday, with the possibility of showers creeping into the forecast, suggests batting today may not be as straightforward as previously thought.

"Both yesterday’s centurion Tom Abell and Warwickshire’s Jonathan Trott suggested in interviews after the close that there was a little more in the pitch for the bowlers than it might have first appeared.

"Trott will resume Warwickshire’s first innings with Varun Chopra, after Ian Westwood and nightwatchman Boyd Rankin fell last night.

"One to watch - Ian Bell was off the field after tea yesterday with a “hamstring twinge”.  Just a precaution, we were told, so we’ll expect him to come in at the fall of the next wicket."

    Welcome to day two.
