Some handy middle-order partnerships are beginning to form in our four Division One games.

At Guildford, Jonathan Trott and Tim Ambrose have shared 42 to take Warwickshire to 246-4 against Surrey. Trott is 80 not out.

Lancashire are rebuilding at Notts, Liam Livingstone and Karl Brown taking them to 237-5.

Finally at Chester-le-Street, Hampshire are in a very healthy position against Durham - they're 265-3 with Adam Wheater and Michael Carberry both ticking along nicely.

It's certainly been a cautious opening eight overs from Essex - no boundaries and Kagiso Rabada has conceded three runs from his four overs.

Alastair Cook has five off 24 balls.

  14. 100 runs

Don't forget, today is about you guys as well!

After passing 10,000 Test runs earlier this summer, how many do you think Alastair Cook can get?

He's only 31, so potentially another six or seven years of cricket left.

Can he pass Sachin Tendulkar's mark of 15,921?

  17. 'Jack Russell doing a brisk trade'published at 16:39 British Summer Time 3 July 2016

    Surrey 273 v Warwickshire 223-4

    Clive Eakin
    BBC Coventry & Warwickshire Sport

"It's a picturesque scene at the Guildford Festival. In one corner of the ground former England wicket keeper Jack Russell is doing a brisk trade in selling some of his art, the sun is shining and a good crowd is enjoying its Sunday cricket.

"The match itself is well poised. Warwickshire's declared ambition is to accumulate a big total and avoid being set a tricky target on the final day.

"While Ian Bell and Jonathan Trott were together in a century stand they seemed on course for that, but two wickets just before tea have got Surrey back in the game."

  18. Rudolph to have X-raypublished at 16:37 British Summer Time 3 July 2016

    Sussex 151-1 v Glamorgan 335

Hmm, this sounds slightly concerning for the Glamorgan skipper. His side aren't enjoying a great day on the field either - Sussex are 151-1 with Ed Joyce on 91.

  19. Cook batting for Essexpublished at 16:35 British Summer Time 3 July 2016

    Essex 5-0 v Kent 207

What a fascinating battle we have here. Alastair Cook, England Test captain, faces up to Kagiso Rabada, one of the best young fast bowlers in the world.

No danger for the England skipper though as he clips the first ball he faces from the 21-year-old for one to get off the mark.

I'll keep a close eye on proceedings at Chelmsford.

  20. 100 runs

Neil Dexter hits a centurypublished at 16:27 British Summer Time 3 July 2016

    Worcestershire v Leicestershire 208-4

We have our first century of the day, and it's arrived at New Road.

Leicestershire's Neil Dexter reaches three figures off 185 balls - his third ton of the season and second in a row.

The 31-year-old has been some signing for Leicestershire as they continue their resurgence in Division Two this season.
