    It's been a gritty knock from Warwickshire skipper Ian Bell, but he's now reaped the rewards with his third Championship half-century of the summer off 106 balls.

    His batting partner Jonathan Trott is on 47 and the partnership is worth 90. Things are beginning to look ominous for Surrey at Guildford.

    It's been a torrid time for Yorkshire's captain with the bat this season. He's not yet reached a half-century in 14 innings, has a top score of 46 and averages 18.76.

    Yorkshire are still well in the mix for their third County Championship title in a row though despite the skipper's problems with the willow, so he's certainly doing something right.
