  1. dropped catch

    Dropped catchpublished at 6 overs

    Eng 16-0

Bright skies over Taunton, no sign of those dark clouds of doom which were hanging around Bristol yesterday. Just a single apiece for the England openers - while Beaumont gets a "life" as Sidra Amin can't hold onto a sharp chance at gully.

And if you think England are making a slow start, they were 19-0 after six overs at Worcester... and finished on 378-5. (Although they did take 19 off the seventh over).

  3. Eng 14-0 (Tariq 3-1-9-0)published at 5 overs

Winfield drives powerfully, the mid-off fielder dives to half-stop it and they run a single as mid-on completes the fielding. Beaumont shows the first sign of aggressive intent by taking a step or two down the pitch to Tariq, but can't beat the field.

Kirstie Gordon, external from the Scotland women's team is backing England debutant Alex Hartley to shine today...

  5. Eng 11-0 (Winfield 8, Beaumont 2)published at 4 overs

Beaumont scurries through for a quick single and has to dive for the crease, but makes her ground. Not much turn from Amin so far, but she's quickly through her over. Cautious start from the hosts.

Alex Shcnopple: Never mind the football, we've got the blistering cricket at Taunton to look forward to today!

  7. Eng 9-0published at 3 overs

Winfield has to reach for a wide delivery from Tariq - it would have been called a wide if she'd left it - but manages to poke it through gully for the first four of the morning.

  8. 'Better start by Pakistan'published at 10:41 British Summer Time 27 June 2016

    Isa Guha
Ex-England seamer on BBC Test Match Special

"The boundaries are only an extra five yards today, but it somehow feels a lot bigger. Pakistan have made a better start here than in the past two matches - pace off the ball here certainly offers them something a little different."

  9. Eng 3-0 (Winfield 1, Beaumont 1)published at 2 overs

Pakistan are goiung to staert with spin from the New Pavilion End (if you know Taunton, you'll be aware there are many pavilions) - the recalled left-armer Anam Amin, bowling in her cap, starts with a wide before Beaumont gets England up and running properly with a single, while Winfield prods a quick single to mid-wicket.

Pakistan's fielding was a bit ragged at Worcester, but they seem to be on their toes in these early stages.

  10. 'It's similar to Jonny Bairstow'published at 10:37 British Summer Time 27 June 2016

    Ebony Rainford-Brent
Ex-England batter on BBC Test Match Special

"Lauren Winfield's new batting stance is very similar to Jonny Bairstow's with a very high backlift. It's almost baseball-esque."

  11. Eng 0-0published at 1 over

Tariq is opening from the River End, with the Sir Ian Botham Stand immediately behind her. Winfield, bat jabbing the air like her fellow Yorkshire star Jonny Bairstow, plays out a maiden over - and it's something of a first as it's Pakistan's first maiden of the series.

  12. 'England should target 300'published at 10:33 British Summer Time 27 June 2016

    Ebony Rainford-Brent
Ex-England batter on BBC Test Match Special

"England need to be looking at that 300 mark as a minimum against this Pakistan attack. The Pakistan attack have not really been on the mark so far.

"It could be a little difficult against the new ball but that should still be target."

  13. Postpublished at 10:30 British Summer Time 27 June 2016

Right, time to buckle up, stick TMS on your wireless and settle down for the England innings. Lauren Winfield and Tammy Beaumont, the centurions of Worcester, are opening the innings - with Maham Tariq taking the new ball for Pakistan.

    BBC Test Match Special

Anya Shrubsole on her own bowling form:

"It has been OK. Potentially I have been getting a bit frustrated but I think it has been coming out OK, the Pakistanis haven't necessarily looked to attack me and Katherine at the start which can get frustrating but if you get the ball in the right area you can't control what the batters are doing."

  16. 'Hartley gets in the face of batters'published at 10:26 British Summer Time 27 June 2016

    Ebony Rainford-Brent
Ex-England batter on BBC Test Match Special

"If you look at the bowlers and the figures, Kate Cross hasn't been the most economical and there is a need to step it up. England coach Mark Robinson clearly wants to look at a few people.

"Alex Hartley is a left-arm spinner who bowls with flight and gets a bit of grip. It will be interesting to see how she goes. She bring variety and there is a patch and footmarks for her bowl into from the pavilion end. The pitch looks like a road but there is something for her in it.

"She's a little shorter, has a nice action and really gets into the face of batters to let them know she is there."

  18. Shrubsole on vice-captaincypublished at 10:24 British Summer Time 27 June 2016

    BBC Test Match Special

Anya Shrubsole on being elevated to vice-captain:

"I really like it but for me it's not a lot different, I'm just trying to help Heather where I can but I've always tried to be a leader even when I wasn't vice-captain in terms of trying to help bowlers, although the likes of Katherine Brunt don't really need any help."

  19. Captain's viewpublished at 10:23 British Summer Time 27 June 2016

Pakistan skipper Sana Mir: "It looks a good pitch to bat on. We won't mind bowling first as there's a lot to be improved upon as a bowling unit. We want to show what we're worth

"It's all about confidence. The girls have been playing good cricket in the last couple of days but things have not gone in our favour. We were off target.

"We have two changes. Nain Abidi recovers from a thumb injury and she's back in place of Nahida Khan. Anam Amin comes in place of Iram Javed."

  20. Can England repeat the "perfect innings"?published at 10:21 British Summer Time 27 June 2016

    BBC Test Match Special

Anya Shrubsole on England's run-feast in the previous game at Worcester, where they made a record 378-5:

"It was just amazing to sit back and watch those girls go about it, with Tammy and Lauren getting their maiden ODI hundreds and then the brute strength of Nat Sciver and how cleanly she can hit the ball. It was the perfect one-day batting innings."
