Shafiq strikes well through point for four, and it looks like the crowd are getting well into their drinks. Earlier, I saw about four or five bottles of very expensive looking wine and champagne lined up together. Hopefully, that was a shared load.

    A Question of Sport Teaser

Earlier, our colleagues at Question of Sport posed you a little teaser. They asked you to name the last five players to be capped by England whose surname begins with the letter 'B'.

Jake Ball was the inspiration for the question, not the answer - the five before him were: Gary Ballance, Jonny Bairstow, Scott Borthwick, Tim Bresnan & Jos Buttler.

By the way, has anyone grasped how perfect Misbah's beard looks? Very good density and fine finishing. Myself? I am of the one-day stubble but his is very well done, indeed. Speaking of perfect, Misbah guides one past third man for four.

  6. Pak 160-4 (Misbah 50, Shafiq 12)published at 16:06 British Summer Time 14 July 2016

Woakes doesn't really want to celebrate Misbah's 50 too much. He sends a couple of bouncers his way after the milestone. Misbah, ever the gentleman, acknowledges them with a sharp intake of breath and a shrug of the shoulders.

The captain's got this. A 33rd half-century of his career for Misbah. A double to get there, and it's a good round of applause for him.

England's Moeen Ali spoke to BBC Radio 4's Today Programme ahead of this Test, and he told them how important his faith is.

He said Islam is "the only thing that can give me happiness". "If I had to finish cricket tomorrow, I would. It's easy".

"It is hard to sum up what cricket means to Pakistan. It is something that is spectated and loved by everyone."

  16. Tea-time reportpublished at 15:44 British Summer Time 14 July 2016

England continue to chip away at Pakistan's top order, with Jake Ball and Stuart Broad joining Chris Woakes in the wickets column.

Ball took his maiden Test scalp early on in the afternoon session when he had Azhar Ali out lbw - a decision which was upheld after review.

Pakistan were rebuilding nicely when Misbah joined Younus Khan at the crease, until the latter clipped a gentle catch to Moeen Ali at mid-wicket.

Misbah remains resolute on 48 not out and he's joined by Asad Shafiq - a man who jointly holds the world record for the most hundreds at number six.

    England's work is not done.

    Pak 158-4 (Misbah 48, Shafiq 12)

Phew! A very engrossing session I must say. If this was football, you'd say both teams have had about equal possession. England grabbed two wickets but Pakistan again looking good with the recovery.

That was quite a Tendulkar-esque shot from Shafiq.

  19. Pak 157-4published at 15:38 British Summer Time 14 July 2016

Genuine shot. Shafiq, who earlier flirted with the edge, expertly opens the face of the bat to guide it through slips for four. No respite for Woakes as Shafiq then punches forward to the long-off boundary. Pakistan wrestling a bit of control back.

  20. Pak 149-4 (Misbah 47, Shafiq 4)published at 15:33 British Summer Time 14 July 2016

Finn is welcomed back to the attack by Misbah's sweetly-timed boundary through extra cover. The Pakistan skipper continues to walk across the stumps and is struck on the thigh pad, but responds with another good shot, this time wide of third man.
