Which is where we begin. England, with a ball that is only 10 overs old, need early wickets in Brumingham, while Pakistan will be looking to bat long for a large first-innings lead.

It's moving day at Edgbaston. Welcome.

On the other hand, Pakistan, in the shape of Azhar Ali and Sami Aslam, gave something of a batting masterclass.

Aslam, the 20-year-old playing only his third Test, made 82, Azhar, dropped twice, 139.

They got their side to within 40 runs of England.

In between, they had to rely on a run out.

See, there were some who thought that Pakistan wouldn't make quite such a strong fist of their reply to England's 257-3, especially when Mohammad Hafeez feel on his sword in the first over yesterday.

Yours truly was one who didn't think the tourists would get a decent lead, while Graeme Swann said he'd eat his hat if Pakistan make 450.

There's still time for both of us to be right, but Swanny may soon start thinking how he would like his hat to be served.
