Ex-England batsman on BBC Test Match SpecialAlastair Cook will bat for half an hour or 40 mins and throw the bat tomorrow, but they could have done that tonight. They didn't score quickly enough. When you get a flat pitch like this, which is hardly deteriorating, you need time.
England have shown character and mental toughness to come back. They've done well but they don't have that confidence, that conviction to say, 'we've got our noses in front, let's go for the win. Unfortunately, it's not in Alastair's make-up, the cautious man that he is.

Indeed, tomorrow looks set to be humdinger. Can England take the 10 wickets that will give them a 2-1 lead in this series? Cue advice on when Alastair Cook should declare....

So where does that leave us? Probably with England set to bat a little longer in the morning. Can Pakistan still win this match? Probably not, and England aren't likely to give them a sniff. But will the home side have enough time to take 10 wickets?

Pakistan spin-bowling coach Mushtaq Ahmed on Sky Sports: "There was no reverse swing. When you play with four bowlers you have to be aware of the game. All our bowlers did so well, we are proud. It was a learning curve."

England batsman Joe Root on Sky Sports: "The way Cookie and Halesy played last night was outstanding, but then it was a matter of building partnerships and getting to where we are.
"It was an unbelievable partnership tonight, good to watch and an exhibition of how to bat in the third innings.
"We had to show quite a lot of patience. If we lost a couple of wickets early we would have given them them chance to get ahead in the game.
"The pitch doesn't look like it is breaking up, but there's enough there to take 10 wickets tomorrow."

Ex-England batsman on BBC Test Match SpecialBairstow and Moeen Ali played beautifully. Bairstow has a belligerent positiveness about him - he hardly played and missed. Moeen's was a very nice innings too. It took a long time to get off the mark, but he'd got 50 in the first innings, which gave him confidence.

With Moeen Ali also in the mood for a good time, England galloped away. A stand of 132 in only 27.3 overs, the match snatched away from Pakistan.

Ex-England batsman on BBC Test Match SpecialVince played nicely, a little cameo. He moves well and played some nice shots. He didn't flash at the balls that were teasing him, then he gets out again - a ball wide of off stump that he could have left. He leaves you frustrated.
He showed me enough to want to play him again but somebody has to brutally tell him - and it has to be brutal - that 20s or 30s, nice pretty things, are not going to win Test matches. When you get in do not give it away like that.
