When I used to play, I always watched the first 10-20 overs in the dressing room, and then had a snooze until 38 overs. Hopefully I wasn't next in.

Despite that wicket for Mark Wood, it still feels like a dull phase at the moment. I'm in danger of switching off and planning the family budget - plenty of direct debits going out in the next few days. *sighs*. Mohammad Amir manages a small smile as he gazes out from the Lord's balcony. Aggers is keen to find out how a diaphanous screen works and Mickey Arthur's watch strap is a bright shade of yellow.
Oh and Pakistan scored a run in this over. But you probably guessed that anyway.

England are cruising after 28 overs. The wickets down is the key. Sarfraz will be thinking if he makes one mistake his side are in serious trouble.
The thing that baffles me now is that there is not much cheering or chanting going on at Lord's. Come on chaps, put that 1920 vintage away and get a coffee or two down ya. A smattering of applause as Moeen Ali sends down another cheap over.

Although neither are involved in England's limited-overs squads, they will not feature for their counties for the remainder of the domestic campaign.
The ECB said Lancashire's Anderson "requires ongoing rehabilitation of his right shoulder", while Nottinghamshire's Broad has an ankle problem.
The ECB added: "Both players have managed their injuries through the summer and a break from cricket is needed to best prepare the Test opening bowling pair for England’s winter campaign that begins this October in Bangladesh."
Wood 7-1-30-2
Well, Sarfraz may be hanging on for Pakistan, but half their batting is back in the dressing room. Wood's been on fire, Woakes has been on fire, and England continue to blow into that. Where do Pakistan go from here? Attack already? Imad Wasim is the new man for the visitors.

It was good bowling from Wood with the extra pace. He was trying to run it down to third man, which will be his defence. That is a great breakthrough for England.
Pakistan need to be careful now with how hard they go in the next few overs. England can really attack and try to get them six or seven down.

More predictable than night follows day is Mark Wood making an impact on this game, the paceman produces almost the perfect bouncer which is short enough for Malik to try and jump on top of it, and close enough to the batsman that he is unable to fend it away properly. In the end, it was a limp edge back to Buttler. Another recovery swatted away by England.
Easy over for me to slot into the commentary. Moeen gives one away, to the annoyance of numerical continuity enthusiasts everywhere. There was cake chat going on on the radio earlier, which is always nice.
Cheers Phil! What’s the danger meter for grevious bodily harm by bottle corks? Red for wine, yellow for beer, and bubbly white for champagne?
Welcome to the cricket. It’s a weird place.
Wood returns and finds a decent length and a bit of swing to bring the ball in to the right-handed Malik, who performs a mini block-a-thon.
That is all from me for now. I'll leave you in the capable hands of Bibhash Dash.

Mike Gatting & his wife sat behind us at Old Trafford once, his dear wife kept complaining she was thirsty and needed a drink, eventually a guy in a Stoke shirt offered her a drink from his 2 litre bottle of tizer!

Malik clearly fancies a piece of Moeen. he makes room outside off and carves him for four. Going nicely these two.
One group in the crowd have a couple of champagne bottles on the go. Nice to see the corks still in their possession and not fired dangerously on to the pitch. Is there a more middle-class injury than bruising by champagne cork? Maybe chafing to the hand by a Waitrose bag for life?

One leg in the air as Pakistan hit Nelson. There are 45 runs in this crucial Pakistan partnership.
Malik is into the action! Moeen Ali is introduced and quickly dispatched as Malik plants him into the stand down the ground.

The one thing Pakistan will think is that Yasir is back. It will spin as the pitch wears on, the rain might come. And in that case, Pakistan might think 250 is enough.
Pak 101-4
Sarfraz is doing a quality job for his side. He dances down to launch Rashid for a two-bounce four to cow corner and then takes a single to reach his half-century. He just needs a partner to stick around with him now.

The wicket doesn't look great. It's got a greeny tinge. The wickets Pakistan lost haven't been down to a green seamer.
What is best-case scenario for Pakistan here? Is 230-240 the very most they can hope for? If so, against this England side it shouldn't be anywhere near enough. Another tidy over from Plunkett, who raises a thump to Jason Roy at backward point for a diving stop off his last ball to prevent a boundary.
