Pak 51-3published at 11 overs
Sarfraz 19, Babar 25
First bowling change for England sees Adil Rashid bring some spin to the attack. Sarfraz and Babar play him well, using their feet to keep any mischief at bay. The 50 is up. Decent recovery this.

That was a class shot. He didn't over-hit it. It was a forward defensive shot. It's created a fielding change as well. Excellent shot.

Hessle CC (The Hessle Hammers) - league winners in East Yorkshire for the first time in many years, a 176-year-old club still on the up! #hammertime
Mr Hammer, Hessle
Pakistan are finally starting to show some signs of why they opted to bat first. Babar twice drives through the off side for four, prompting a defensive fielding change from Morgan - one slip out and into the outfield. A minor victory for the tourists.
Maybe time for a change of bowling? Wood has lost a bit of rhythm and isn't getting through as much as his first few overs. Sarfraz and Babar get on top of him, working the ball through the leg side for three, two and finally a four. These two are doing well in a very pressurised situation.

Wood has bowled quickly, but is almost bowling into the wind. Woakes is a swing bowler, but has the wind coming over his right shoulder.
Another big appeal from Woakes as he slams the ball into Sarfraz's pad. A shake of the head from the man in black and red. Is that a bit high? It is clipping the top of leg stump. Umpire's call. Babar ends the over in positive fashion, latching on to a full delivery to smash a drive through extra cover for four. Lovely shot.
Here are the wickets to have fallen so far...

It surprised me, why Pakistan won the toss and elected to bat. It looks a pretty worn out pitch. There is a chance of rain later which could bring in Duckworth-Lewis, and they batted poorly at the Ageas Bowl.
Bonus for Pakistan as Wood digs one in that beats the batsman and bursts through Buttler's gloves for four byes. Babar adds another boundary with a slashing shot to send a short, wide ball through off. Just a tiny counter-attack building from the tourists now.

It must have got an inside edge otherwise that looked gone. That was homing in on middle and middle!
Oh, almost another gone as Woakes' fullish ball hammers into Sarfraz's pad. An inside edge is all that saves him. Woakes is bang on with every delivery. A maiden. The WASP currently has Pakistan getting 197. Optimistic.

Tom Rigler: Duloe CC battling against Delabole CC for top spot in Division 5. Cornwall East, only six points between us with three games to go!!
Chris Anstey: Shout out to Frogmore CC Press league decider against Bushey CC today in Herts League.
Finally, something for the Pakistan fans to cheer as Sarfraz pushes a Wood delivery past the diving Moeen Ali at cover for four. The first of the innings. It is followed soon after by another - this time a back-foot push from Babar through a similar area. An over without a wicket?! Booooooo!

Chris Sheldon: Mark Wood's on fire, Pakistan are terrified.
Asif Khan: Better make some alternative afternoon plans.
Sam Farrow: Can both sides agree to play a T20 after this? Hope the crowd might get some refund!
It looks like a wicket is going to fall every ball. Woakes beats Sarfraz's bat and then draws a lose flick from him that sends the ball just wide of the diving Stokes at third slip. This is like the late stages of a game of Pop-up Pirate. Every sword is potentially fatal.

James Gulleford: What a start from England! Azhar already regretting batting first? Surprised he decided that after Wednesday.
Ben: Goodness me that's a lot of grass. Why on earth have Pakistan batted first?

It was a fantastic delivery from Woakes. His golden summer continues. A bit of seam movement, bit of swing and it draws the defence from Azhar.
