More from England batsman Alex Hales: "It's been a tough five or six weeks, personally. I haven't felt particularity out of form with the white ball. I was confident heading into this but it's been a tough few weeks.

"It's pleasing to have won the series after three games but we want to be ruthless and win it five-nil."

England's record-breaking batsman Alex Hales: "I didn't know about the record. I knew I was close after Jason Roy got 160 at The Oval so I knew I was closing in.

"The improvements we've shown in the last couple of years, the batting goes all the way down to number 11 so it's an exciting time for us as a team.

"We haven't reached our full potential yet. We're still learning and still improving."

England's Eoin Morgan: "Quite a monumental knock from Alex Hales on his home ground, to score 171 in any form of the game is remarkable, and our innings was based around that as it played a huge part in setting the innings up for us. Alex has shaped up well and kept a great attitude, and he's come back really well today.

"Records are hugely important, it emphasises we're not just a chasing side. We probably have 17 or 18 players who have played in the last year and a half and could come into this side."

More from Pakistan's Azhar Ali: "The test team has been doing well for the last five or six years. In one-day cricket we haven't played so well in the last few years.

"Once the batsmen were going like that, and the pitch is quite flat, it was tough. I tried my best but I think credit should be given to England."

Pakistan's Azhar Ali: "It was very tough. I think it was an exceptional innings from Alex Hales and Jos Buttler.

"On a wicket like this you really need to support the bowelrs and that din't happen. On a pitch like this it's hard to control the batsman's runs if you don't' control the flow of wickets.

"We have two more games to play. We need to pick ourselves up and, as a unit, be better."

I've got to take my hat off to Alex Hales - he played the world's worst one-day innings by an opener at Lord's three days ago, but he came out and played an incredible knock. He rode his luck, but by the end his ball-striking was phenomenal.

I don't think the long-term question has been answered about whether Hales is England's long-term red-ball opener. But in white-ball cricket, he is there. He'll go to Bangladesh, it's one of the best places to be a top-order batsman.
