    Hasan c Root b Jordan 9 (Pak 236-8)

It's time to swing like you're in a 1930s discotheque. Hasan has been threatening it this over but without result. He tries yet again, as Jordan bowls a full toss yet again, but this time his charge down results in a slice to backward point. Simple catch for Root.

I think the only thing this side is missing is a death bowler. Of past players, Darren Gough would be a fine man for Eoin Morgan to call upon. He always nailed that inswinging yorker at the back end of an innings.

Somebody wake that guy from Rhodes up, somebody get that tortoise out of the welly. Pakistan are making a game of this.

How Pakistan needed this knock from Imad. They've found themselves a player.

    Pak 234-7

The chaos of the final few overs. England conceded overthrows in trying to run out Hasan. But the sparkles are all from Pakistan, as Imad absolutely, positively, emphatically lifts one from Willey way way way over for six. Even the cameraman lost track of it. Next ball, same area, this time Imad drives it along the ground, same result. It all helps take Imad to his third fifty in ODIs. Well played sir!

To be fair to Bairstow, it was a super catch as he dived to his left after changing direction, and took it low with one hand. Sadly, replays show there was a massive bump-ball after Hasan's swing.

    Hasan on 7 (Pak 218-7)

Jordan bowls another full toss as Hasan swings at it. There is a noise as Bairstow catches it. Not much appealing apart from the keeper who looked insistent.

The England spinners got through their overs so quickly, it squeezed Pakistan and has also allowed Eoin Morgan a bit of extra time to spend talking with his quicker bowlers now about field placings etc.

Think he might be stuck, Bruce. Or maybe he likes hanging out like that, I don't know. Not familiar with tortoises beyond that story about the rabbit race. Eoin Morgan is having plenty of chat with his bowlers about field placements, as Willey points his arm around in a 180-degree arc trying to arrange bodies. It matters little, as Imad pulls him away to deep mid-wicket. Not the prettiest of shots, but who cares? The trumpets are alive!

I'll tell you what, if England have their Yuvraj more-languid-than-me-after-a-rice-meal Singh in Moeen Ali, then Pakistan's answer is Imad Wasim. Another casual shot, this time a flick off a full toss, brings him four off Chris Jordan. The ball races away through mid-wicket. Imad's defensive play also reminds me of our Indian star, as he smoothly jabs the bat down to a wide yorker from Jordan.

Six overs more of Imad and Pakistan will fancy their chances of reaching 250.

  16. Pak 201-7published at 44 overs

Excellent over for Pakistan. Left-handed Imad Wasim gets a lucky four down the ground as David Willey makes a complete mess of what should have been a routine stop at long-on. Cue ironic cheers and the death stare from Plunkett. There's nothing lucky about Wasim's next shot as he expertly shifts across the stumps to scoop Plunkett to the fine-leg rope and bring up the 200. Very casually done, as smooth as a man with a spade digging for mud who knows exactly where the basket behind him is.

Chris Jordan tells Hasan that if he's going to whack a few about there will be pain involved. Hasan tries to pull at a short delivery like a number three but the ball nicks off his upper arm and into his helmet. Thwang!  He doesn't look too stunned to be fair, but still needs a few seconds to take his helmet off and shake his head into gear. Adil Rashid is signing a few autographs by the boundary including a book that's got playing cards on it I think. Fancy.

Twice this season I've been asked for my favourite view at a cricket ground media centre and I'd put Headingley high up - it's much improved. The most picturesque ground I've been to is Pallekelle, though.

Slap it. Smoke it. Put it on a golf tee and drive it. Whatever gets the trumpets going again. Imad Wasim whacks Plunkett through the cover area for four. He emphatically got on top of the short delivery and slotted it away. Well done man! Next ball, he smokes it down the ground for the same result. Fancy dress or not, you get up and dance people of Headingley. Dangerous.
